No "Promotions" has been implemented without bugs.
Especially Time reductions have failed, resulting in severe problems to play the game.
And now you can't even end it without failing.
After two weeks of hard work, your team of Specialists demands to rest a couple of hours earlier.
But you're lucky: the last Specialist found 50 gems for you on his way home.
The gift was sent as an in-game message to all players who were settling during the last 30 days.
Keep in mind that gems are directly added to your gem balance when clicking one of the buttons.
No, the gems did NOT add directly to my gem balance. I used the Add to Storage button.
You might need to change the zone once (e.g. by visiting a friend's island) or to re-log into the game
in order to see the change (end of the Specialist Weeks) in your game client.
No, change zone or re-loging did NOT make any change (of the Specialist Weeks).
Though I might already had lost login session and just had to log in again.
Edit: Now Specialist Weeks are turned off, reloging (again) one day later.
