As happened lately (and I personally get messed up) I may suggest a simple think - during maintenance, whatever time it takes, all mines, production, adventures and buffs to be halted.....I l have lost 50% of the gain I worked out for 2 months patiently cause of the 14.04 maintenance..learned the lesson, and today I was ready as the same stuff happened. Wasn't be more easy and less frustrating for the players if during the maintenance everything is just halted? I mean - no barracks production, no castle, no mines no buff counted........just stop everything.....
After that - BB should not feel guilty and should not give as any garbage to apologize.....And the people will not be so frustrated about the production chain lost.

I'm "on the fence" on that one - I've thought the same thing, but on the other hand it's a great time to have the kingdom do "boring" things like making retired bandits, buffs, and also queing a lot of soldiers. So in that respect I feel I would lose time - it's nice when the maintenance is complete to have several hundered population ready to go and the provision house available for something else.

I think is more acceptable if you don't produce anything during maintenance, than loosing lot of stuff during maintenance. Whatever it takes - you can actually be part of it during live game, and during maintenance - you are not able to do anything. Than all lost will be your fault and you will not blame anybody but yourself.

Yeah - I'm convinced now, better to leave things running and consider your management on maintenance day (and now I will be assuming the worst as far as the time frame goes)

Nice idea. Then we dont have to worry about mines running out and getting destroyed, or resources being wasted because of buffs running out.

If you support this suggestion you may as well pause every building you have got, after all some idiot with a digger might run amok cutting your cable, or you might fail to see that No 10 bus.

making rules based on exceptions is not rational.

making rules based on exceptions is not rational.

Logic would seem to dictate that the wise course would then be to apply the rule only when the exception occurs and freeze the game only when maintenance over runs.

That does assume, of course, that the last two weeks are not indicative of a 'new norm'... in which case freezing the game during maintenance as a matter of course would probably be a very good idea! :p

The thing is, the programming involved in applying this may well cause another crash they then spend a day trying to fix...

+1 to that SmurfAsH. Absolutely agree with you with tiny change - "...maintenance. Or do not complain." :)
