Going by the Deposits section of the Merchant:
1000 iron - 60 gems worth
2000 fish - 35 gems worth (or make in PH)
4000 coal - 70 gems worth
2000 meat - 90 gems worth (or make in PH)
500 omni - 100 gems worth
1500 stone - 105 gems worth (or make in RPH)
1000 gold - 150 gems worth
1500 copper - 105 gems worth
1500 marble - 135 gems worth (or make in RPH)
5000 gold - 750 gems worth
3000 omni - 600 gems worth
So.. you have a 2% chance of getting something worth 3 to 4 times the 195 gems you are gambling with, a 25% chance of getting something anyone can make in a Provision House and 15% chance of getting something that many can make in their RPH. This just proves my initial gut instinct, namely that if you need to spend gems on refills you're way better off going for one you actually want.

All I can say about this is anyone remember the good times when you could open two boxes for less gems and there was a pretty good chance one of them was a Frozen Manor, why even waste a programmers time for this rubbish.
Those Master Architect boxes were unreal. At the time Frozen Manors were 8 - 10k coin in Trade to buy. Easily one of the best items in the game. I can see why they stopped them!
Similar to adv follow on's where players were able to upgrade scouts/geos at incredible speed with the RBN adv. They soon put a stop to that!
Bit of a double edged sword here, players have more fun when devs make mistakes - Normal adventures where blocking is possible; books as loot; master architect boxes.
Players complain when devs over think things - Mini ( linear ) addys; Re-balancing - addy loot - adventure availability - follow ups drop rate; refill boxes.
I wonder when players spend more money on gems....when they are complaining..... or having fun?
I wouldn't want them to make a game breaking mistake, its is an economical game after all, but when you get feedback that points out the obvious like Ozzy has:

You are either abusing the trust of your players or treating them as stupid.....neither are going to want to pay your way by throwing money at your game if you can not see how far from the mark you are with content like this. Some joined up, middle ground ( A little advantage to the player ) thinking is needed right now if players like myself are not going to follow the many others out the door.
