OMG!
A one-year-old not-so-clever-change-but-later-then-considered-a-bug in testserver was never really discarded but just postsponed...and now it's here.. :(

Hi,

i couldn't find any infos about the change of the improved storehouse entrance and i have no idea in which forum category this thread belongs to.... so i will give it a try here...

this change will mess up some production cycles, especially when you use several farms/silos to work with one wheatfield and even more when you try to manage that with improved silos and lvl6 farms...

but i dont want to cry about the change (there is no crying smiley!), i just want to know where i missed the information about the change and more important... when will this change hit the live servers, cause it would be a waste of goldcoins/granite and time to build/upgrade imp. storehouses etc. now

best regards (http://forum.tsotesting.com/threads/20434-improved-storehouse-entrance-relocated)

As already pointed out in this thread..
this was not a proposed change in the change log and may in fact be a bug as it was before on the test server

This was indeed not intended and an update has been posted here (http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/threads/31130-Change-Log-21-07-2015?p=283037&viewfull=1#post283037), offering more details on the issue and the following steps.

Thank you again for your reports!

OMG!!!!! i didnt realize it... What the hell they ruin a lot in my island ...
Like my ultimate copper mine they had 3 roads now they have 4....

Why do changes like this just this year we moved all our buildings for free to make perfect economy now they change it and everything again not in place ... :((((((((((((((

just pathetic :( going to leave this game soon, if the changes will go this way

same here, just discovered the change while checking my iron production...

BB please revert to the old state and bring us back our normal entrances, it was painstakingly hard to find proper places for improved stores in the first place and after finally getting some good we receive a total change without any prior notice ? ? ?

What on Earth?... Absolutely nothing about this in the change log. Why would you change this after people have spent years designing their island layouts based on the way things were? I can only hope this was unintended and will be reverted back at next maintenance at the very latest.

please put it back the way it was, i have tons of buildings i need to re-arrange now, and i just cant do it easily, it's quite silly to have to do that :(

plenty of other bugs today, maybe just wait and see if this was a mistake or not first

hey Ravel, can you please add this on the list to be fixed asap?

Well it is quite common nowadays too see a change after maintenance, which is not mentioned in "change log", if there is one (last maintenance or the one before did not have a change log at all). I don`t really care about imp stores entrance because I just land them somewhere but I can understand why people are going mad as it is true that rearranging island is slow and you need a lot of patience, not to mention that most players will need to remove some buildings in order to have space to do it. In other words making hidden changes is not a good way to keep players in the game. Will not mention that keeping game play destroying bugs for months is not the right way too.....

Pretty useless change. The overall sprite alignment/collision is far from accurate, so why bother doing such minuscule modifications?

This is not funny anymore, it just became bizzare...
Last week i transferred my titanium smelter, paying the fee of 3000 gold coins, to the fast 6 second spot near my big shiny improved storehouse, asking why ? because it was on a 8 sec spot like it is today after this change.
Furthermore, to make this even more bizzare, last week i also built and relocated my entire iron/steel chain with all the smelters and weaponsmiths, proudly, as i found the good and balanced spot finally ! Well, not anymore says BB :-((
Luckily i haven't touched the cannons/damascene chain or it would be a total disaster

A kind suggestion to BB, if this is gonna stay give us the chance to rebuild/relocate our buildings cost free, or just fix this bug a.s.a.p. as in a game of balance such changes without any prior notice are simply not acceptable.
After all, we've being taught to balance our chains since the first quests in the beginning of the game, aren't we ?

a comment from Ravel or any1 else from up there would be appreciated. is it a bug or will it stay like this?

We have a maintenance each week, but only once a month BB add new items to the game, and does bugfixes, only those maintenaces get a change log.

If you would have left it at the old spot, the walking time now would have been 10 seconds, so you still have that 2 sec improvement over the old spot :)

And as Kit_ said, this one isnt in the changelog, and is a known bug from test.... so dont start changing you lay-out just yet....

I have noticed that the entrance is now at front end so a production building either side will deliver to the centre front. Meaning they are equal when they were not before.

I would guess that at the drawing stage it would have been placed in the same way as an epic woodyard and buildings either side would enter centre front

Just to clear things up, we only post a Change Log when changes have been made and a new version is deployed.

Regarding the relocation of the Improved Storehouse entrance, this was inserted in our database thanks to your reports. I also mentioned and linked the test server thread in hopes it might help. A special thank you goes to everyone that pointed out the issue originated there and provided the exact link. :)

Very grateful and keep on reporting! I will do the same. :)

You're welcome, but it's not the first time I gave you that link.. I hope there's no need to yet again do that in a year.. :p

Regarding the relocation of the Improved Storehouse entrance, this was inserted in our database thanks to your reports.

Sorry, Ravel, but can you please explain exactly what "inserted in our database" means?

Was it an intentional change or not?

What degree of priority will it get?

I ask this because, as far as I am concerned, this is a serious change to a critical aspect of the game. Many players, such as myself, spend much time and effort planning the layout of their islands in order to optimise their economy. This includes the balancing of chains so that workhouses further along the chain are supplied the right amount of goods to function and this change has thrown the timing of any workhouse that was closest to an improved storehouse out of whack. With the sheer number of improved storehouses on my island, I don't think I have a single chain that hasn't been affected to a greater or lesser degree.

Considering that this building has been in the game for the better part of two years now and that many of those in play were acquired using gems paid for with real money, if this change was made deliberately then it is unforgivably thoughtless, not only because of the costs involved with moving high level buildings, but also due to the fact that the storehouses themselves can only be moved by demolishing and rebuilding, thereby losing all the upgrades.

If it was done by accident then the fix should be given the highest priority in order to keep the impact on our economies to a minimum.

Either way, it should be undone quicker than the Roadrunner can say...

OMG - I didn't notice this during the morning but I didn't get to play very long. Will check later. That will mess up everything. Where did the entrance used to be.. I have trouble remembering....

Could new graphics bugs all be related? I notice that the ore symbol for mines doesn't go away once you build a building on it - looks like an eye starting at you. At least leaving the island and coming back fixes that.

Investigated improved storehouses. Seems to me they now appear more like regular storehouses as far as the location of the entrance. Fortunately, this didn't affect much chains much (some buildings worse but some better - I tend to surround the storehouse with the same type of buildings). But I can see where this would be a serious impact to many players depending on their placements.

I'm not moving anything until there is some official word about what's going to happen with this.

Sorry, Ravel, but can you please explain exactly what "inserted in our database" means?

"Inserted in our database" means that I read your comments, investigated the issue, made a summary of my findings and then reported the issue further by inserting the findings in the database we have for such issues. This is the normal protocol whenever you guys report changes or bugs in the game.

As soon as more details are available, they will be posted.

OMG! OMG! OMG! I just noticed that myself too!!! The entrance changed!!!

I did fit into my island entire 6 of those mostly useless buildings!!! 6!!! I can imagine only agony of people, who went all through the tricks of depleted well to put in even more of those mostly useless storages. Now the entrance changed and improved storage is ENTIRELY and UTTERLY useless. No depleted well trick will help now with this too large storage. And now I am learning this is actually... INTENDED FEATURE !!! OMG! OMG! OMG!

Dev1 Oooh I know let's move the doors on things'

Dev2 Well it will mess up all those finely balanced economies won't it

Dev 1 yes, be great fun, let's do it. Players will spend a fortune moving things round to get balance again.

Dev 2 Then next week we turn it all back again...love it, let's do it.

Far fetched? Somehow don't think so.

I assume that was sarcasm. It wasn't intended - I accept the explanation that when fixing one issue a side-effect was caused, not unusual in programming. Why it wasn't found in QA testing would be a fair question - but I don't accept it was done on purpose as a joke.

and heres one with collectable on the spot the path now goes right through the storehouse

you cant move buildings on it so its same size :)

the size is 2x3,
but you can build on 2x2 if there are only trees on the extend 2x1 area.

Is it always like that or change recently? I just notice this and start to replace several regular storehouse with improved one.

recent change. before you needed a depleted well to build on.

this recent shenanigans with imp stores has ruined some of my silo/farm balance - some buildings have started to use different deposits :(
