Blue shield over generals on home island

A blue shield is permanently visible over each of my generals whilst they are on home island. It looks absolutely ridiculous and serves no purpose. All other buildings only show a blue shield when you hover the cursor over them.

I'm really hoping this is a bug and that it can be changed

Garrison Status

Different icons are displayed within the shield over garrisons,
reflecting the current status of the corresponding general or marshall:

Tick/Check icon - Waiting for orders
Crossed swords icon - Attacking and fighting
Rider and horse icon - Retreating or returning to camp
White flag with cross icon - Recovering

with regards to changing it, there may be an option to turn the flags off, being tested on test server.

I thought the same Jemima for the first few minutes but have got used to it and I suppose its easier for them to show them all the time.
However, what i do find funny is having Stone Statues (East etc) with a Blue shield on each and the tick. Though it completely destroys the look and therefore the enjoyment of having decorative items. So i hope they put this right quickly. Sadly when you demolish one it does not show the 'red cross' meaning recovering even for a second :D

I suppose there are players who didn't clean all area on the island so low lvl players need this info maybe ...

Well, they could make this blue pin disapear after you clean home island. This is annoying imo. The blue pin should only show when you are on island (home or adv) while there are bandits on. So after clearing home island of bandits this should go away.

I'd rather have this small blue shield allways visible and a general's name shown only when hovering over it (on both home island and in adventures), than having generals' name allways shown in adventures.

Common sense would have at least meant using a different colour than the one used for highlighted collectables, and it's not as if the Devs didn't know because we've been complaining about it ever since it hit the French servers.

on the test server there are new options being tested which will allow you to turn off certain graphics. One of these is the option to turn off the new blue shield we have above our generals

OK, so how will we turn it off on the "Collapsed Wall (North)"?
That is also now displaying a blue shield, thinks it's a garrison.
Update, so do all 4 "Stone Statue" decorations.
Sigh, was there any testing at all? :(

I can't see the point of having these on my home island now that I no longer have to do any fighting there.

The colour is picked to reflect the owner of an object, so makes sense to me; and to me it's a significant difference between a bouncing shield (over colls) and an idle one (over a general).

I'd be happy if it can be turned off. Seems silly on the home island. In another post it's been mentioned that the target camp no longer has the cross-swords symbol when you click on the general that is attacking it - that concerns me more.
It does all seem like a lot of effort for very little return.

In the change log - it's status of the camp. On the home Island (assuming the bandits are gone) it doesn't serve much purpose.

I found a use for the blue shields on the home island garrisons...
