Chat Resets and Changing Zones

I have been getting an awful lot of Chat Resets since the update today. As well as it happening during the normal course of play, I have come back from being AFK several times, with my system sitting idle other than my connection to TSO, and found chat has reset in my absence, though what seems to really make me prone to it is Changing Zones. Even when I don't get a Chat Reset whilst Changing Zone it has been taking considerably longer for a new zone to load than it did prior to this update.

Idd, to me it seems like we all suffer for heavy server load..
And for the records.. Despite running OS after reboot on a defragmented disk, having cache cleared both in updated browser and flash; within an hour I had my first chat reset while being AFK..

Logged on first thing today and started building a copper mine... had a chat reset which froze the game for a couple of minutes... when the game (briefly) responded the mine was fully built... another chat reset, again freezing the game for a couple of minutes, after which the same mine was showing in the build queue as seventy-odd percent done... another chat reset... another couple of minutes freeze, after which the mine is showing completely built again. The game continues as normal and I click on the mine and the pop-up shows that red settler icon like you get when a mine is just built and it is waiting for a settler to arrive.

Can't even do basic rebuilding on my island without being crippled by this issue.... frustrating is not the word!

Seems to be a cold fix already planned..


Certain game actions, such as destroying a building, applying a buff, canceling a production and others, are now faster.

I have been hit by a chat reset almost every time I have tried to switch zones this evening and now the game has frozen thus:

If you look carefully, in the bottom left hand corner, you will see that the game has frozen part way through the chat server resetting, with only the whisper tab having reappeared after the connection crashed.

Had pretty same experience tonight.
For the record: Flash cache was cleared, both computer and router was rebooted, but still..

Been experiencing intolerable lengths of freezing in game recently, mostly on adventures, but also on the home island after return from them. There is also rather a long lag between transferring between islands.

I know BB do not accept issues with blocking, but the freezing is of such a length of time that any blocking gen would be killed before the freeze was over to send the kill general.

To clarify, the freezing is literally a frozen screen, not a loading one..

Guild members are having similar issues..

constant freezing here (every few minutes) on home island and adventure.
Very long travel times between islands and more frequent than usual chat resets too.

I've been seeing some long pauses as well - everything on the screen freezes, lasts anywhere from 1 to 5 seconds. I thought it might have been something about my flash player but the wife's computer has been doing it as well.

Same happening here including game freezes often during chatting with friends.

i also have problem with freezing in game. switching between zones are very slow

we all know server are not ready even for events, not for this new updates. More players are in game, more player play adventures
soon will be much more problems with game and server, because bb don't want upgrade their servers

It doesn't matter whether I start playing at 9am or 2pm...
It doesn't matter whether or not I clear my browser and flash caches...
It doesn't matter whether I turn my PC off overnight or leave myself logged in....

EVERY day, between 3pm and 4pm BST, the game starts throwing chat crash after chat crash at me... and this continues until some point in the late evening, usually between 9pm and 10pm BST.

This issue has got nothing to do with the settings or spec of my PC, otherwise the game would not behave more reasonably out with this time period. Even support gave up trying to say the problem was at my end after I went through their checklist of 'fixes' one-by-one, even though I had already done most of them before I contacted them. Their last two mails to me on this issue basically said the same thing: The Devs are aware of the issue and working on it.

So, around two (infuriating) months later, is it beyond the realms of all hope for some sort of update on when we might have a fix for this, please?
