Red Light Button on the Homepage

This is more idle curiosity than anything but based on a number of conversations I'm wondering if other people ever see this little icon near the post title:

I've seen it, apparently randomly, on the German homepage as well as here on our EU and on the North American. It never lasts long and only turns up on new News posts. There have been so many of those recently it seemed like a good time to ask.

I can't actually be the only one with a wandering stoplight, can I? o.O


Edit: Considering the timing it seems wise to stress it's just a graphic icon, the tiny picture has no power.

I think it's a "Don't press"-button.. (Click it and servers will turn off.)

Ahaha And now we have a knot! Thought I was quick enough in the edit but there is no 'quick enough' that matches the speed of the interweb!

this red light was spoke about by BB_Ravel at around 15.25BST on newfoundland in G1... although not much info was shared.. the one distinct remark I remember was:

Cheers Brayarg, I've actually heard something similar. Just having trouble believing I'm the only one seeing the invisible from time to time, and if I am (I can't be, I just can't be) I'm curious how I'm seeing it.

Something like this actually seems to be the working theory. But!

Not the only one! \o/ Seems at least one other person has seen this, so now it's "It can't be just the two of us, it just can't." Tis a rare bug that is that choosy.

It looks like it comes up if you happen on the homepage within [x time] of a post containing it appearing, or already have the homepage open and refresh, maybe via the "News" button within [x time]. So basically 'sheer dumb luck' and possibly + whatever other bit of personal computer hinky has the x-ray glasses.

But it's out there, minor as it is it's really out there. :D
