View Full Version : Halloween countdown wrong

Whoever programmed the event countdown timer forgot to allow for the clocks going back on the Saturday following the event start.
Depending on what time zone the servers on this could lead to a failure of the phase one removal script being run, it all depends how they have coded it.

Currently on a server active when the timer ran out:

The Event tabs are still in Provisions and the Golem hangs about with his quest.

On a server freshly opened after the timer ran out things have already reset:

Prov tabs are gone as are Golem and quest. Uncomfortably curious how this will affect Adv loot for anyone who's refreshed.

The timer and the info are grand, and can be only helpful. But they can only be helpful when they're accurate and agree with other available information like that in the Dev Diary and on the homepage.

Both deactivation phases happen with the corresponding game maintenance.

Also awkward if people who may reasonably be thinking it's a graphics issue due to the time change find a week from now that the shop has disappeared an hour before they are expecting it to, or on some servers possibly many hours.

Time 23:05 , countdown timer shows 55 mins remaining before removal phase two. Maint should be in 2 hours 10 mins.

While it matters less with a Limited Offer than it does for events scheduled to begin and/or end "with Maintenance" the current Ltd Offer timer does make for a handy picture of why one timer for everyone is not always equal for everyone.

At 13 minutes into a new timer-day only instances set to CET are close to their usual maint time of day:

Fingers very much crossed this is sorted before Christmas.
