View Full Version : De-camping and re-building of garrisons

Every time we move across an adventure map, the garrison packs up, walks to where you place it and rebuilds. The walking I understand, but is there anything that can be done in the future to speed up the de-camping/re-building, just to save us players a little time (and sanity)?

30 seconds to tear down and the same to rebuild each time you move a single garrison is a minute of real gameplay we lose. That adds up to a hell of a lot of minutes over the course of a week.

For time saving reasons I'd also like to see this, as well as a reduction in travel time to adventures :)

for about 4 years? If you can't make a constructive comment, then please don't bother

Whilst it s a nice thought, its one of those parts of the game that I don't think will ever be changed, and in part I think vigabrand has a point. TSO has always been a `slow' game, I think the xp level requirements to 75 and the repetitive addy requirement to get there is driving even the casual, relaxed and chilled out player of the past, in the wrong direction, and looking at ways to `speed' things up.
Constructively, I would emphasise the need to improve the travelling time to addys, with reductions gained through adding content ( General science tree / Port building ). Here is more scope for shaving `minutes' of the addy time, rather than a single minute that is possible for the change proposed here.
I also think that the reduction in landing spots has contributed to the negative slowness of doing addys. The higher level player, will on the whole, have more generals. If these were all allowed to land, moved and organised, like in the past, generals could be loaded and sent to next attack or new zone position as attacking general returns, and this deconstruction/construction time would be less noticeable.
Finally, its always been interesting ( amusing) to see how long the addy's have been given to complete, from days to weeks, if these were the intended times when they were in the design phase, is it no surprise that the devs are tweaking things like landing zones to `slow us down'. Mind you the thought of getting to Lvl 75 at the `intended' rate shows why we often say that at BB it seems the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing Lol.

I think the travel time may not be an issue than the actual rebuild times because the pvp gens and the santa gen manage to do it faster. Over all the travel time I can accept as it's mostly 15 minutes each way regardless with anything but a regular gen, so 15 mins is what it is. The rebuilds though being a whole minute each plus the walk time makes it tedious, especially on some of these 1001 night adventures (thinking Treasure of Knowledge specifically)..

ty Larili, I was intending to point out that settlers is a slow game. I;ve seen a lot of comments about speeding things up but if they were all employed we'd be playing a totally different game and I can't see bb going down that path. jollys reply is understandable there is so much negativity/trolling all over the internet but I am not 1 of those ppl... my sarcasm does get me into trouble a lot tho :)

I apologise Vigabrand - My response was from the hip.

Truth is when a suggestion is placed, we want constructive criticism in order to get BB sit up and notice, so I went off the mark there, I got precious about the subject.

The first thing that I think of when seeing suggestions like this is what are the knock on effects, particularly for the lower level players. Also the impact it will have during events.

What I think of is what overall percentage of time does this actually represent? It's a tiny fraction of the overall game experience, and I don't see any point worrying about it.

I have said for a long time that BB have missed a money earner. Sell a buff for generals to make them travel to advs faster. Charge a small number of gems, like fairy lights, and watch the gem sales rise.

I'm happy with the game being slow, and I don't mind the travel times to adventures - but I do find the garrison building/packing up really frustrating.
