View Full Version : How about improve Expeditions also?
Level cap raised to 75, Ali Baba adventures, new troops and resources, Excelsior coming. All this is great, of course, but how about adding new content on Expeditions also?
Judging from all the I-Hate-Expeditions posts, I know only me and a couple more players play it, but even so, I humbly ask for:
1. More map layouts (you know there are only some 5 or 6 maps, with semi-randomized placed camps);
2. Colonies with saltpetre, mahogany, etc. resources;
3. More enemy types;
4. Rethink the Heavy Units: attacking/blocking with any of the 3 types is the same (right?);
4. Even larger maps.
Please?

is it a suggestion?
but they need to fix current pvp system, i'll never play it unless i really bored and maybe after i lvl 75 (which maybe impossible in short/medium term "planning").
its so expensive and waste of resources and time.
after that, your suggestion indeed nice :)
Which game is not waste of time? ? ?

Brilliant :D
TheVictorious, I know many people don't like expeditions because of the reasons you said, but consider this:
1. As Norton pointed, which game is not a waste of time? :-)
2. Waste of resources, meaning the cost of troop building far outweights the loot? Agree. But I grow tired of doing the same advs over and over. At least each colony is slightly randomized;
3. It is not really pvp, just another type of adventures. Have you played Travian, Game of Wars, etc? These are pvp games, not Expeditions;
4. The lake castle at level 15 is absolutely beautiful. I must have it!

Just remove ''pvp'' to a separate server/world and many would be far happier, they can then add whatever they like.
I agree: remove Settlers from Expeditions, please.
Also, please remove mushrooms from Planet Earth: I don't enjoy it, I never eat them and nobody forces me to, but knowing they exist makes me itch.

lmao
but yes so long as pvpants doesnt intrude on daily/event playabilty then it's fine there as purely optional for those who enjoy it. However Id like to see the 2 pvp menus on tab as also optional as Im fed up with accidentally hitting the rankings button :(

Why does it seem like, sooner or later, every suggestion for improvements to Colony Mode end up with someone saying it should be removed from the game? /rhetorical question
Anyway, if the buttons at the bottom of the screen are annoying you, I would humbly suggest you lend your support to suggestions like this one (http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/threads/31169-Colony-Mode-Interfaces).
As for the OP, I would definitely like to see colonies with saltpeter, mahogany, platinum ore rewards for sure... they could cycle out the marble and coal ones that nobody seems to want while they're at it!

OK, game is kind of something make your Serotonin higher :) and make your day nicer, and your production better, waste of time I mean here that you get do nothing in game, let me say you waste of time that you managed to (waste as you call it or have fun).
Add if you pay for premium you waste time that you payed for.
Anyway, the castle is really awesome, but as a feedback, i really looking for improvement on PvP system.
not against it, i totally love PvP, but in this game, its not PvP funny like another games, if I want a PvP i close this game and playing a real PvP in another game, a "worth waste of time".
There is one simple fact, there are people playing PvP mode.
TheVictorious, agree, it is not pvp. Let's call it Expeditions, and the beauty of it is (besides the castle) the semi-randomized nature of it. That's what appeals me and that's why I play it. And as I play it, I migt as well create a post to demand some improvements. :-)
Dorotheus, that is a fact, indeed. One of them just conquered one of my colonies...

The problem Expeditions known and presented as a PvP, or let me say its a Player vs Player , but what as what known in the PvP concept that known in gaming world ...
Its kinda of "semi PvP," you face a player only if he going to conquer your colony or you want to get his colony.
Anyway, I like this "PvP" to be a part of game, but I just hope BB listen to us for this, like the Ranking annoying button to remove, and improve the current system to make more people join, as example fix cost of troops and time, the battling system, make PvP events, a nice and worth production buildings in market you can get from PvP only. and so on.

Technically speaking you don't face the opposing player, you only attack static camps that are supposed to belong to him (which you cannot even verify easily).
This mode is stripped of pretty much every element of what we typically see as pvp mode, hence it should not ever be called pvp :)

Well said, but I was hardly trying to find a word or something close to PvP as what BB might think!

I like Expeditions add on as it is, just as a nice variation to pretty static aventures. Play a few a week in between addys to keep the slots ocupied. I've played far less expeditions than adventures, but that's ok. They are ment to be played in lower numbers as they are supposed to yield resources over 7 days period with max 6 colonies owned at a time. What I miss is more integration to the main game. Not much comming out of it for overall benefit. Bigger cost of troops doesn't bother me at all, but would like some results which matter in overall picture. A few examples might be ones below:
The castle could be residential building increasing it's capacity with every level.
or the castle could be a functional comunity building unlocking functions like footie pitch with levels
rewards for unlocked levels could include things like Frozen Manor or other usefull hard to get buildings
or it could be brand new buildings (or buffs) only available from expeditions (as somebody suggested above)
colonies products could be more interesting as nobody want's to do them for coal and such
resources offer could improve with castle level so that we end up with usefull resources only, which would help to keep the colonies meaningfull after max level was reached
I'm sure others can come with many more suggestions or improve on mine to make Colonies better integrated and appreciated part of the game. :)
