View Full Version : formatted numbers 1123456789 -> 1,123,456,789
If the numbers formatted it is more readable, but there is many part of the game where the numbers don't formatted.
Examples:
Wheatfields. Packed wheatfield 3073 -> 3,073
3476531 meat (deposit near a hunter building) -> 3,476,531
359760 fish (deposit near a fisherman building) -> 359,760
Industrial iron mine 217466 iron ore -> 217,466
Star menu
87500 settlers -> 87.5K
1111111 wheats -> 1.1M
like in storehouses.
tooltips:
in storage: Pinewood: 68800/1531000 -> 688,000/1,531,300
in star menu: Add resource: 87500 settlers -> 87,500
Economy overview left column. Resources Platinum ore 1371904 -> 1,371,904
Population window 3211 bowman -> 3,211
or in adventures too.
Information toolbar on top (tools, pinewood planks, hardwood planks, stones, marbles gems) That would be K and M. 501669 tools -> 501K. Need fewer space, there would be more resouce info, or shorter info toolbar.

quick question. You know that this formating for numbers does not work in every country?

it works for trade items already though, so why not this suggestion?

This does have some merit - certain countries have different ways of formatting numbers. You can see just some of the most common methods in this Wikipedia article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decimal_mark#Examples_of_use).

...and yet the fact remains, the format IS ALREADY USED on trade, so why not the OP's suggestion regardless of countries? ...

Agreed.
I appreciate number formatting and date/time formatting varies (I'm originally from the States so living in a DD/MM/YY country still kinda confuses me at times) but it is already present - not when you input your number to the trade, but at least when you see the final result there are separators for 1,000 so I would think the same rules could apply consistently. I take for granted that most people understand the 1 thousand separator.

+1 it would make things so much easier to read :)

I like the suggestion and it will definetly be an improvement. Sadly, that's not, what my question was about.
Is there anyway to know if this suggestion has been posted on the right forums ?
