Game locked up when Excelsior awarded paperwork buff today.
Also Excelsior caused lock up yesterday but cant remember exact circumstances. Might have been when I got buff then as well.
In both cases refresh sorted it out.
having issues with excelsior.. when adding crystals to create letters, the game locks.. crystals do not add and cant close the excelsior window to try again.. only way to clear the window and unlock is to refresh, however upon refreshing the crystals are lost and no apparent rewards given. This was happening on test but to a much bigger degree. It seems the issues have been reduced but certainly not solved when launched in main game.
I don't know if this is a bug but every 2nd time I fuel the forge, the Excelsior window freezes and i cant see the rewards this process brings. 1 time i saw that the number of letter snippets had grew so i assume i get some rewards but i cant see what.

You can notice the close window button is inactive and i can say that there is activity in the background.
Could smb check it?

Thanks for reporting this guys - I've alerted the devs to this bug, and we'll hopefully find the issue and squash it. As always, if anyone else has the same/similar problems, keep the reports coming. The more information we get, the faster we can fix it!

yesterday the game totally froze and crashed on me using it i was in other account, incognito also on chrome as the game download was still playing up for me not loading (im in other account in game download today thats fine it seems now)
i did have screenshots yesterday but dont have them now
on other account i put all 17 crystals i had and pressed the button to do them all together the game totally froze for me i couldnt even X the (pinky ponk i call it lol) and at one point i did whisper a mod to pass a message on for me to a guild member in other account from this account, to explain my game had broke on me, and i would try refresh and see if it would work as said guild member i could see them chatting to me in guild chat but i had no way to reply or do anything I put it down to 1st day teething probs
After that even on this account i was not risking it happening again i was doing the spins 1 by 1 and the same happened game froze/broke had to keep refreshing.
today though i did do 7 at once on other account in game download thing no problem, in this account on google chrome did 5 at once today and game froze again so had to refresh again so i dunno all times its froze on me so far its been in google chrome or goggle incognito

Hi I am having problem too with adding crystals the game locks up so i have to log out and back in again. Crystals have then disappeared and no reward.

I have same problem, i added crystals, and screen locked, i had to refresh and lost crystals,and got nothing from slotmachine :(

Mine freezes too but i dont think i have lost any crystals.
I am pretty sure that this happens when you get crystals from using the forge and then use the forge again without closing the Excelsior window in the meantime. It appears that these new crystals cause a problem and lock the game up.

Hi im also experiencing the same as Jax030310 , I load my gems and press the button and then it freezes loosing the gems ive put in and then I can not even close the window, I have to reboot the game. It did it last night and I thought it was just a glitch but it has done it again tonight (I cleared my Cashe yesterday but it made no difference and it has done it twice tonight the first time it did give me letters when I logged back in but the second time my 7 crystals got eaten but noting back when I rebooted.
I have tried both short letters & normal letters and it freezes both times then when I log back in it takes a long time and the script sequence seems to be out of sinc with text showing from the game before the main information box has cleared, I am getting frustrated as I was enjoying doing the new challenges it was good to have a new set of challenges, so a quick fix would be great please.

I haven't had a problem with that so far, and I got crystals several times. I have been counting the rewards too, no losses so far.
The Excelsior locks on my Chromebook but not on my desktop or laptop.
I tested if the game window size has something to do with the locking, but my Chromebook locks even when the game window is bigger than on my desktop.
The locking happens right after pressing the purple button (disables the X on top right corner) and before the animation starts.

Froze yesterday and twice so far today - within about 5 minutes. I've just relogged for the 3rd time in 10 minutes. Just seems to be random freezing

My case is different, i invest 1 crystal and then 2, and the ecelsior didnt gave anything back, the frame screen appeared empty, no lock or freeze but nothing rewarded. Contacted support alredy

Just had it happen to me, won a long letter fragment then game locked up. I think my geo was due to return from a copper search at the same time.
Excelsior continually (probably every 2 out of 5 times) locking for me half the time not sure if I am getting any reward at all for crystals. Can actually close it today as it was froze previously by switching letters but every subsequent time the crystals go down and no rewards appear.
Still happening as Mine has frozen for past 3 days when i add crystals. I thought i was having a computer bug but as it was at same task each time I came to forum and found this thread

My game freezes too when i use fatbot
Today i used 9 crystals and it froze and i had to re-log 3 times. Tomorrow i will time when i do it , how many crystals I use, etc. Then I will put a ticket into support.

I do not mean it in other than a friendly easy way of referring to the Robot that is part of Excelsior. Silly yes but its a game and meant purely in fun.
I did think that adding to a thread about a specific item, not responding that well to crystals being placed in it meant that i did not have to be too formal. I did also mention using crystals too.
But my apologies if i caused confusion.
mine freezes too, and thee animation doesn't work when chrystals dropping into oven.

happened to me today - not had any problems at all up to now. Was making parts for the book, screen froze, could not close excelsior window had to log out and back in again. Crystal gone no rewards - luckily I only mash one crystal at a time

freezing happens daily for me when i use it - i don't think i have ever got through a days crystals without it happening

game locked again today but didn't lose any crystals, refresh sorted it out
yes, second run on the excelsior always freezes... crystals are gone and no way of knowing what has returned (if anything)
refresh => all crystals gone

This was first reported on the 21st/9th ... any word on when a fix will be implemented ?
Even taking this very slowly doesn't stop the issue -its becoming a real pain :(

Posted on behalf of Diwata: She was playing and the Excelsior screen showed no reward. She pressed the 'play' button a few times and nothing seemed to happen. The server was getting the play attempt and reducing her gems but there was no feedback on the Excelsior screen at all - it was only later she noticed the gems were missing.
If it happens again to her where no reward shows (naturally of course costing a crystal for nothing) she will close the window and refresh the game before trying again, but it seems very unfair that the server can be taking resources and the UI tells you nothing about it.

Im also having the same problem, It works fine the first spin each day but if i click to spin one more time the screen frezzes.
Had this issue also.
Excelsior screen locks up, can't be closed with no option other than a game reset.
Time taken to restart this game makes it a very annoying bug.
2 months and it's still happening. Losing gems daily because of this - any chance of a fix?
I had thought the last outage was supposed to have fixed that, but apparently not. I haven't been seeing the problem but it's clear others have. Some of the posts seem to point to exactly what default media players were being used on the assorted systems, but I don't remember a lot of details.

I've countered different kind of bugs.
Yesterday: i got 3 crystals as log in bonus and from daily quest 5. Opened the exelcior and there was only 3 crystals. I waited few minutes for those 5 more crystals (not) showing up. After the refresh, they appeared.
Today: After I won 2 crystals in excelsior machine, two times in a row, the game bugged. It didin’t reduce the number of crystals, it just showed all the time that I have 3 crystals left in my account. After I woke up in that situation (it was morning after all…) I started to think that there must be something wrong with that thing…. I noticed that my gem value had dropped….. I think I lost over 180-200 gems for todays excelsior bug. (After refreshing the game the crystal value showed 0) Be careful and don’t trust the excelsior counter if you happen to win crystals from the machine, refresh the game instead.
Still having the same issue with Excelsior going through the motions with no animation & not showing rewards (if rewards are even being credited?).
The only indication it is doing something is the little x top corner of Excelsior window goes grey after clicking the start button and returns to normal once it's run the cycle.
A game refresh correct this but is so annoying given the long loading times.
Happened to me today. Sucked 3 crystals, nothing to show for it besides a locked game.
Today I had this happening again. I am not sure if it has anything to do with the update on 24th of jan. I have not used any crystals since update until today.
It goes fine if I only use it once. If I use it a second time it freezes up game. I dont even see what I got, but can see after refresh that I must have gotten something.
A game refresh correct this but is so annoying given the long loading times.
as an old school c64 gamer that mention of long loading times made me chuckle :) 15-30mins loading a c64 game and then it crashing just before loading and having to start again, kids these days have NO IDEA of what's defined as LONG LOADING TIMES :)

The Close Excelsior "x" button was greyed out and the only way I could continue was to refresh the game. When I logged back in the crystals had disappeared and it appears no reward.
I am having similar issues (and have had issues since i joined) - i might get to put one or two crystals in successfully (in two turns) and then the excelsior locks up and no rewards but the crystals are gone .. sometimes it happens the first time i try to use the excelsior so it's not just when i receive more crystals - mostly i receive one or maybe two rewards before it locks up and the X greys out and i cannot get out of the window without closing my browser -- sometimes i can get out if i just wait long enough.

I use two different laptops - and each laptop uses two different browsers interchangeably -- and have had problems with every configuration i've tried
1) macbook pro running Sierra 10.12.2 using Firefox 51.0.1 64-bit and/or Chrome Version 56.0.2924.87 (64-bit)
2) macbook pro running El Capitan 10.11.6 using Firefox 52.0 64-bit and/or Chrome Version 56.0.2924.87 (64-bit)
flash is updated regularly to whatever is most recent - today it's 24.0.0.221

this happened to me again this morning & 'lost' 7 crystals for no loot. Why is this still happening??? Thought bug was fixed!

Got it just now. I noticed I got 2 short letters out 3 crystals so not lsot but excelsior hangs. Can't say for sure wher eto shake out the info from Steam verison.

Have had the issue a few times - think it is when I start next run before all items from previous run has finished moving.
After update 21th I have had it almost after every run -
1. Firefox
2. 25.0.0.127
3 Linux Mint
The hang-up occurs for me even if I close Excelsior window.
The hangup may be reproduced as following:
Open Excelsior.
Use all crystals you have (you are getting some new)
Close Excelsior window
Open t again.
Use crystals
- the game hangs at this moment.
Workaround is log-off and log-in again after first use of Excelsior.
