View Full Version : Excelsior - Where are you spending your crystals?
Just Trying to gather some info on the best place to spend those crystals.
I spent a few on the short letter part as the quest showed, so I understand so far that the letters are for quests and the travel guides are for the ventures.
I hate fruit machines in general so not fond of this mechanic (lets face it, U never win on fruit machines. Ever!)
I noticed the book section has 1 poor reward of 20 starcoins from every turn, I assume this is where most are placing their crystals?
Oh and whats the chance to get a zone buff from a spin? Ive payed over 30 crystals and not got a single one yet.
i started with little letter like quest asked
then i moved on to books (have a fisherman addy waiting to be done)
today i got my 1st el chupabaca thing did that just posted guide i made as doing it 1st attempt in mma gen part below in signature bar i did win a coal mine off that one, next i will do the lower travel guides try get some copper/iron mines parts and see what that gives me to do
I see, Like many others I can only spend the login/daily quest crystals so Im limited to maybe 8-10 a day. I like the look of the recruitment guide, that would run well with myers/skunks :)
Trying my luck on long letters to see if i get the manuscript recepie, then all the way to fairytale chain for sure. I want to start my Epic Farm hunting, the level 50 bakerie is tempting me :)
Working on long letters so as to get the manu recipe, managed to get enough so far to do one quest chain which unfortunately gave me gems instead of the recipe.

i assume the recipes are perm to use ? would be nice to stack them
Ah yes, I see the manuscript, tome and codex recipe are place in different areas, So deffo have to go for them, and of course the epic farm, so much to do, so few crystals to do it. BB must be loving it, Gem sales must of boomed this last week :)

9 manu's in under 24 hrs? all I can say to that is wow, hmm looks like its long letters for a while then...

PLanned to do the Long Letter first for chance at manuscript recipe.
Spent 19 crystals and got 1 long letter snippet. With those odds this is turning out to be a gigantic snorefest (yes I know sample size is too small for accurate % chances, but still). Going to take ages to get anything from it.
For sure won't be spending gems on this thing, rather fly it out to sea and sink it.
hehehe tbh only reason i spent the gems is i have a gem pit so no biggie for me plus i wanted the addy so i can get working on a guide as well as use my other server account to keep making the tavern gen island guide for archipelago other wise i wouldn't spent no gems and wont be spending no more on it just the freebie crystals

Just got a tipi from that nords venture, unfortunately not as exciting as I thought it would be (prnt.sc/clxpa5) ^^ But altogether I really like the excelsior, finally something new :)
I have so far spent 25k+ gems on crystals to work through the long letters to try to get the manuscript recipe, so far 8 boxes and 50 gems each time. Sometimes I wonder why I play this game, this is one of those moments! Especially when I hear of others getting it after as little as 3k gems spent... Not loving Excelsior so far, no.
Have not spent any Crystals. Saving them all until I see level 63+ Letters or Epic Smelter.
At first i hated the addon, but then i tried again and found out how good it is for resources, actually got 2500 star coins and 1 venture from books and another venture from venture so i give the new addon both tumbs up :)

Went beeline for the long letters quests, got " A threat?" ( sweet quest) and got the manuscript recipe in the box. No gems spent.

It holds 50 settler, could be more, but still better than just decoration ^^

I must be cursed, all I seem to get is 10 grout, 20 mahog logs on the long letter or 20 sc on the book one, I know its aimed at ppl who can throw unlimited gems at it but c'mon, give us poor ppl a chance, lol.

On travel section. There's good chances to get the 200% zone wide 6h/9h mining buff and mining refills (I think you have been extremely unlucky based on my rolls, I have on average gotten one at least every second day). This is very powerful combined with refilling and buffing the industrial mines that you get from the ventures; very profitable. Allthough for lower level players like myself I think I get more out of just selling the refills and mining buff on TO (or using it on my higher level friends and split the profit).
I'm doing exclusively short letters because it's a lot better to get gems 50 gems for 3 snippets, wheras medium give 50 gems for 9 snippets, long gives 50 gems for 18.
I really wish they would balance that depending on snippets needed. 50 for short 150 for medium and 300 gems for a long letter. This way you aren't forced into crappy short letters just to get the best gem to crystal ratio.
