Quest: "Mastery"

While we're waiting for the game to come back, something that's been bugging me for a year...

What's the score with this? (Main quest window, I think it's a sub-quest of a larger quest, though can't tell now as the game is down)

The goal is to invest 16 Codex in a geologist, yet to be able to use a codex at all you need to invest 20 other books (manuscripts and tomes), leaving only 11 possible before the max of 31 books.

Is this a bug?

The only other way possible is to claim a 50% refund and maybe, just maybe, all books are open to invest straight away.

Which is it? Anyone know for sure?

claiming the refund does not allow you to invest in the higher levels straight away.

I'm not sure if it is possible to complete as its the only quest (other than PVPoo ) that i haven't completed.

I think it would be much better if you could invest the 16 codex across several geos rather than a single geo.

Okay cheers. It's clearly a bug then as there's no way to extend the number of books invested (no would I want one tbh. Half of it is pointless a year or two on).

My quest says "invest 11 codex", so that works out: 20+11=31. So either you misread or you really have a bug. Can you post a screenshot?

You know what, I've gone back now and it does say to invest 11. I think this may actually have been fixed. I mean, I can do a good impression of stupid at times, but I'm not at heart, and I've looked at this several times over the years and was quite clear I couldn't progress. A former guild colleague also verified the problem on their quest list once, I'm sure.
