I have tried seaching for this idea before I wrote this suggestion. If it has been said before then sorry:D

Would it be a good idea to be able to place your generals where you want at the start of an adv rather than them just landing anywhere on the map and then having to waste time letting them build their garrisons only to dismantle them, move them and then rebuild them where you need them.

To my mind the pros of this idea lose to the cons. Just for starters how then would you know that your lootspotters general had arrived.

Because he just does, after all its not the lootspotters adv. I'm sure they could work out different landed protocols between the two players. Or even a message telling you both he is ready to land. So you both know and can talk to the player, so then the lootspooter could place his general closer to a camp to save even more time.

There could be beachheads instead of landing spots - technically, "island storehouse" of which we would move out our generals.
One beachhead per player and coastal sector.

Shouldn't be so hard to fix code for that and map devs to pinpoint beachhead spots in all maps - compared to all (sneak) changes done about current landing spots.
