Dear BB Santa

I hope this letter finds you in good health. Unfortunately it isn't the same for the settlers on my island, let me explain what has been happening:

It appears that the reindeer who recently arrived on my island have been feeding on the wheat fields which sadly means that there will not be sufficient baking done for the annual Christmas dinner, they also found a way into the breweries and friary and have frightened the workers and monks, then they proceeded to drink all the brew we had set aside for the dinner.

They have been following their ringleader, Rudolph with the nose so bright, flying around the island at night in their drunken state and have been dropping smelly messes everywhere, lots of which has landed on the roof of the Mayor's house. Needless to say he is furious and has made the settlers take down their scaffolding from the buildings they had been constructing and has had them move it to his house so that the roof can be kept clean of these smelly messes. This has meant that all construction has drawn to a halt, no goodies are being made and there isn't enough brew for the Christmas party.

All we ask for Christmas is that you send some Reindeer diapers and that Rudolph be reprimanded for leading all the other Reindeer into bad ways. If you could send the diapers this week we may still be able to salvage the Christmas dinner and party for the children.

Thank you kindly BB Santa, we hope you can help sort this out so that we can all enjoy a Very Merry Christmas.

Dear BB_Santa,

There's actually not much I'm wishing for this year, things seem to be rolling along well.
Troop numbers are up, resources keep flowing steadily trough the many large storehouses scattered across my piece of island paradise, there's even a steady diet of adventures for my generals to keep busy on, instead of hanging around the tavern all day AND all night.

This year, I think one thing I'm wishing for, is for a gift of aid, be it population, resources or even some special decorations, for those just starting to build, those who are stepping out boldly with only a tavern general or two on their first adventure, those who hesitantly enter that madcap world known as the Trade Channel for the first time, those who ...... well, you get the picture I'm sure. Something for the newcomers that says 'pleased to meet you, welcome to TSO, we hope you stay'.

Now I know I said there wasn't much I was wishing for, aside from what I've just wished for above, I'd be gleefully happy if my generals could come back from their next tilt at Secluded Experiments with that elusive Angel Gate.

Well, that's me, wishing you all at BB a Very Merry Christmas, a riotously Happy New Year and more importantly - Peace on Earth and Goodwill to All Men.

Llwc.

Dear Santa,

I would like a Roasted Chestnuts buff. It would be a special, zone wide buff that multiplies all other active buffs for a time.
For example, during an adventure I might require extra troops to be trained up or have urgent requirement of iron from the mines. With a regular buff I can choose from the best available to me and apply it to as many locations as available. With some Roasted Chestnuts, a recipe from your own Mrs Claus, all of the buffs would be working at extra speed, just for a while, getting me through my quests and adventures in double quick time.

I understand if such recipes are held firmly under lock and key by Mrs Clause. In which case I'd be very happy with a stocking full of granite or magic beans, whichever you have to spare.

Yours faithfully,
IBMKenobi.
P.S. Look out for the mince pie and carrots on the mantle. If there's a light still on in the house when you visit, don't worry, it's just me tending to my Settlers.

Dear BB_Santa,

you ask about my most ardent wish ... well it wouldn't be a world based on tea and sympathy .. that would be rather too sloshy ... but a world based on love and empathy would be grand ... too difficult? ... you're a BB_Santa? ... see the point .. ok ... well ... down to business then ...

At this moment my most ardent desire is a roughly equal drop rate for all collies across the game so we can at least trade when we have too many of one thing because someone else will have a shortage ... because right at this moment we appear to have a global glut of candy

Writing in hope

Dear Santa

It has been some year!
Brexit, Trump, Syria, terrorist atacks left n right and the loss of both Prince & Bowie.
No wonder the year ends in confusion with a golem for christmas????
A golden confusion that could only be inspired by trumps tacky interior designer
Rudolph however will save the day

Dear Santa,

We have now been here for many months and have made many new friends, but we have been unable to get home for Christmas this year. Although my crew have never complained, I would dearly love to get all of them some small gift to show how much I have appreciated all the hard work they have put in around this wonderful island we have anchored on.

We have been so busy in the last few months that I have been unable to get all the gifts that I needed to buy, and I do not want even the lowest crew member to miss out on a present this year

For myself I ask for nothing, as we have seen on our Christmas adventures that there are still poor and needy families out there who need you help more than I do

For my cook a new recipe book, so he can gather all the exiting recipes we have discovered on our travels. He always looks longingly at the fine tomes that are presented to the explorers that hold their secrets.

For the first mate a new sword, as her old iron sword has long been blunted by use and the sea - maybe even a damascene sword if I could be so bold to ask for such a fine weapon.

For the cabin boys and stewards, some cloth and wool so they can repair their uniforms. They are all so proud of the role on board my ship, but there is never enough cloth to go around to keep their uniforms looking smart.

For my Cleric and confessor, if there is any holy water left after the golumns had been defeated, he would be honoured to take some on his travels. He has asked to leave my ship in the new year, and eager to seek out the true meaning of Easter - although secretly I think he wants to meet the Easter bunny in person.

For my militia - although they have never seen action on this island - have used much of our supplies, and the swords and bows we started our voyage with seem inadequate for the adventures we have endured most recently, so a few crossbows and cannons would make them proud to bear arms again

For the rest of the crew, they are happy enough not being at sea, but I do want to look after their health - a few of Aunt Irma's gift baskets or feasts would very nice.

Everyone has been looking longingly at the Christmas sweets and gift wrapped beverages we have helped deliver to others, and not one of them has tried to take one for themselves.

Yours Sincerely
Sonya

Dear BB Santa -

I wanted to share with you my Christmas Tree. I have never had a Christmas tree in my adult life because the thought of copping a tree down just to enjoy it for a few weeks makes me sad and a fake tree is just too tacky. So I had a lovely woodworking friend make this sweet tree stand which I hope will be a family heirloom for years to come. My new little family does not have many ornaments but the ones we do have a very special and we hope the tree will become more and more beautiful through the years. I knitted my one year old son and husband Christmas Stockings this year too.

Happy Hannukkah, Merry Christmas, And a Joyous New Year!
Love, Queen_Avery

Merry Christmas to all! Here's my tree (actually my parents, I don't have space in my flat for one nor am I ever there for Christmas anyway, but I assemble and decorate it every year single-handedly...almost!...so I think I have a bit of a claim to it :p) Btw my user name isn't too clear unless you zoom in so have attached a second, zoomed in photo which is hopefully a bit clearer.

Dear BB Santa,

Firstly, I'd like to thank you for all the presents you've been delivering to me throughout the event. Please keep them coming as the merchant refuses to follow tradition and have a boxing day sale so I'm being forced to pay full price for his event items! Anyway, on to the real purpose of my letter: what would I like for Christmas? The answer to this required very little thought on my part - I'll stick to the classic girl's best friend please. Lots and lots of diamonds, blue ones in this case please (you may also know them as gems in Settler language). ::gem::::gem::::gem::There's almost nothing these twinkling cobalt stones can't fix when things go wrong on my island if only I ever had enough of them. :(

Now, you'll want to know if I've been a good girl this year. I'd say yes but I'm hardly objective so I'll present you with the facts and let you decide. On the plus side, I've given away lots of resources for free to lower level players (and even higher level ones if needed), have applied tons of buffs to friends and guildies, expecting none in return and given away loot spots for free as well as dishing out advice whenever it is needed. I've not forgotten my own settlers either and feel I've been a benevolent queen, providing them all with employment of some sort, even leaving old buildings I no longer really need standing so as not to make any of them redundant.

However, honesty compels me to admit that I may have had a part in a couple of teeny tiny misdemeanors. Namely, I have knowingly and forcefully recruited many of my population into the military, then forced them into invading other islands and committing genocide many times over and have even wittingly sent quite a lot of them to their own deaths on suicide missions. (Oh, and I may have turned a few of your reindeer that seem to have invaded my home island into sausages or grilled steaks. Sorry Rudolph!)

I sincerely hope you can overlook these minor transgressions and send some gems my way, pretty please?? And if you absolutely insist on taking a dim view of my military activities, could you at least be a darling and leave me a few thousand sacks of coal and not just one lump of it? Thanks Santa! ;)

Dear BB Santa,

Merry Christmas to you! I hope you’ve had a chance to take it easy and enjoy some quality time with your own loved ones – you’ve been so busy looking after all of us settlers and supplying us with presents! This year I've decided to focus less on the commercial aspects of Christmas and more on the symbolic aspects. To this end, I've decided to go back to basics with my wish list and take inspiration from the original Christmas presents – if they were good enough for the baby Jesus, they’re good enough for me! Now, I know some of them may be a bit hard to come by in Settler land so I thought I’d provide you with some ideas for possible substitutions.

Sheep – rather than live sheep some wool or woolen cloth would be most welcome!

Myrrh- instead of anointing oil, I’d be very happy with some machine oil.

Frankincense – this one was a bit more tricky so I took a little artistic licence in coming up with a substitute for this perfumed incense. How about a recycling manufactory for the smoke part, and some elixir buffs to apply it to make it a bit more sweet smelling? Yes?

Gold –gold ore, bars, coins, guild coins, even a gold tower would all be greatly appreciated! No substitution even needed for this one so if you want to forego all the above and just give me lots and lots of gold, in any and all forms, I’d be more than happy!

Thanks very much Santa!

Love,
Queen-d
