View Full Version : The Evil Queen - Epic meh
Ok some of you will heartily disagree with me on this, but this is my observation of this questline.
Why do I find it Epic meh? I will break it down in all the points.
1: You are not guaranteed the tome recipe at the end. I have even heard some say you first need to get all the blueprints before you get it. Which I frankly hope is not true.
2: The rewards are downright blergh. "But you get grout!" yeah I get that from Ali's as well, and I get way more stuff from those on top of that at a far lower cost in troops.
3: The exp is ... nothing to write home to about. Why? FT's can at the very least net you bonus exp (40K-120K) not to mention you use normal troops so you can basically rebuild your Ali units while running an FT and vice versa. VS and Ali then? Well ... Ali get bonus exp, and you can finish/do a the threat and/or Compass. None of the Evil queen adventures have that saving grace. You use Elites but it doesn't count as an Ali so you cannot time it together with a The Threat or a Compass.
4: The Epic Farmyard - sorry but a 6 by 4 building that counts as 3 of it's regular versions ... it's way too large. I honestly cannot justify putting it on my Island. While sure 3 of the regular buildings will use 3 Building licenses, at the very least these can go up to lvl 6, take less space. The only thing that I suppose is useful is that you can change productions at a whim. But tbh at my level with the Improved buildings ... it is downright not worth it in any way.
Now if ANY ONE of these had been different ... at the very least it would have made this quest chain way less of a pain in the rear.
Now I just downright hate it. It's cumbersome, it's slow, the reward are terrible I have to forego doing an Ali and bonus exp just to slog through FIVE (yes the quest chain is five freaking terrible adventures) in the hopes I get the recipe so I never have to do it again.
I am all for a challenge really, but this? This isn't interesting tbh.
I am well aware that it will not be changed. (they still haven't changed all the old adventures no one does anymore because they are terrible) But now at least I got it off my chest and I sincerely hope they will not introduce anything this horrible EVER again.

No, that is not true. It's just another g-1 rumour.

Not true. You might be lucky and get some rare buildings.

There's ATM just a few guides for these ventures, but you do may save a lot of troops if you're not totally lost in needing guides made by others.

Why would you want the Tome recipe anyway? It's terribly not worth it.
3 level 50 bakeries seem pretty worth to me...
Get over to test and buy 34 snow white rewards, then see if the farm is worth it.

This guy gets it. The equivalent of 25 lvl 6 bakeries compacted into a 5x4 building is insanely space-efficient and buff efficient, which also saves you 7500 grout.
yeah ... not sure where you are imagining those 25 lvl6 bakeries in that Epic Farmyard but I sure as heck do not see it ...
Simple math..
Epic Farmyard Bakery Tier 1 gives 10 bread. Tier 5 gives 50 bread. There are 3 production slots. -> 150 bread = 25 lvl6 bakeries.
i played it 8 times so far.
and really like the building.

That was the first thing I thought of maybe it could be used for when it were first announced. The math just confirms my theory. :)

Why on earth would anyone want 25 lv6 bakeries?
Not even mentioning the consumption of wheat, flour and water ...
I have 6 lv6 bakeries and I am sitting on roughly 13m bread and 500k baked settlers - frankly don't know what to do with them.
My Village schools already make it somewhat difficult to kill settlers as fast as they come - and ever since Grilled Steak, I'm not making Irma Baskets any more.
I need about 1000 settlers a day for Ali Babas and that means I'm making about 250 extra, ignoring those that come from fairytale loots ...
Then again, seeing that I consume over 64k Water/12h and a single IWM is only 3k water - I have an idea what I could do with a lv50 Well or two ... :D

1000 pop per day... i envy you man... lol a vlt alone is almost 5k and you can do a couple a day very fast or other adventures. I kill pop faster then i breath... the wheat comsumption is huge, true but you can switch prouctions and make flour for a while stock it up and then use buffs and make a huge amount of bread fast. Besides imagine the building space you can save if don't need regular bakeries... or mills... etc... if you ever have all 7 chains at level 50 the sapce you save on your island alone is very good, even at smaller levels it's still great. My point is... Epic Farmyard... heck yeh :)
Hi how can I get an epic adventure?
Hi how can I get an epic adventure?
you can get them from the merchant using map fragments or your explorers can find them. Roaring Bull, Black knights, Dark Brotherhood an secluded experiments are all epic. first 2 ar easier than last 2.
i pretty much agree with rylian and i dont need the farm, but it's something else to do in game which is always welcome and while i understand rylian isnt complaining for asking for change, simply voicing his opinion i will point out... u dont have to do it if u dont want to :)
I do it because I need something else to do. I do like the epic farmyard. But I do agree with some of the complaints.
The rare buildings - got my first one - and a big disappointment. Would have expected something that had some actual value, not just a very big ornament.
I am not really into ornaments - prefer for stuff to be useful, and with that size I would have expected the ancient temple to hold at least 200 settlers, but it is just an ornament.
I also find the loot generally rather small and disappointing. Sometimes there is a bit of grout - that is nice. I dont need more beans.
I also hate to finally get to the end of chain and again and again and again- get the blueprint for water. A bit of variation would be nice.
The epic wood and farmyard I see as a way to fine tune your production chain. And when you for some reason need a lot of something, like for a quest - then they are also nice
Hm, is there more than one type of 'epic silo' blueprint? I already had the first level (20 refill) unlocked, just did evil queen chain again, got another 'epic silo' blueprint but it hasn't unlocked the next level (30 refill).
Academic really since I have no need for it at all, long since had that covered by imp silo's and as pointed out elsewhere the whole building is un-necessary to most high level players.
Yes buffed it's like 25 bakeries (if you get the blueprints) but as Sharpy points out, with 12 schools and 500k breadmen in store from existing bakeries it's not needed. Furthermore, you'd have to buff it what? Every 8 hours? doesnt fit with my 48 hour buff cycle and that strange thing called work....
Another one of those Everest things, you do it because it's there, no other reason. And there's not a lot else to do now.

You can get 5 epic silo blueprints, each should unlock the next level. I suggest you contact support.

Thanks Doro,
I assumed as much, nice to have confirmation though. I've raised a ticket.
Edit,
Aha, wait a minute, a light dawns....If there are actually 5 levels....
If the first is 10, then it did activate and it's now 20.
However.....
This is far from clear because I can now see 20 as an available choice and 30 dimmed out. Presumably what i had before was 10 available and 20 dimmed out. Thus if I get the blueprint again I will see 30 available and 40 dimmed out (with the 20 row removed completely and exactly the same number of 'lit' rows as before the application of the new blueprint).
In the case of the only other epic (woodyard) each row would light up as you opened it, there was no removal of previously completed rows and the addition of new higher ones. So for the farm if one simply glances at it and sees 3 lit rows before and after the new blueprint it appears to have done nothing at all.
Of course if there are a that many levels multiplied by that many functions for the Epic Farm there isn't the space for the necessary rows and it will need to increment existing ones. it is however mildly confusing to see no more lit up rows having completed another blueprint when the only other epic yard worked differently.
Additionally I admit I wasn't paying that much attention to what it could do since as stated I don't care about it or need it.

First level is 10 refill. Second level is 20 refill.
I like the epic farmyard. But besides that I do agree that the loot is not that great. Got my 3rd ancient temple, was lucky to sell one of them, so just stuck with 2.
Not sure if there is something worth getting, all I got so far is red trees cherry trees and the temple.
Why make suck a big thing and it is only there to look good?? I am not keen on ornaments and I would expect a building that size to have a function. Like holding 100 settlers or something like that. Pretty sure the first ones that bought it on marked from others was thinking the same.

I've had all the trees which I like, 2 bone churches and today a very welcome frozen manor on red riding hood.... However, the recipe I got today was the first duplicate, same epic stable as I already have. So, I will not be doing any more of this chain, not when you get duplicate recipes when you don't yet have the full set. I'm sure the fabled tome recipe is eye-wateringly expensive to make too. Soooo it's the end of the line with it for me. Shame, as it's always enjoyable to have different things to do. The loot is generally poor, the losses very high. I somehow feel cheated, after all I invested a lot of time, resources and crystals, to be given something unusable at the end.

Are you sure it's a duplicate and not a level up for a recipe you have already ?

Yeah it's probably a level up blueprint. There are no duplicates and you stop getting them after you have fully leveled all of the 7 production lines to level 5.

Hi Dorotheus, Mannerheim,
Yep thanks, discovered from guild pal yesterday was an upgrade. Still annoyed though as spent a lot of time on here trying to find out information about the stoopid thing before I posted. And yes I now know it's on the Wiki.... pity the info not easily available in their own game.
