View Full Version : 330 Aunt Irma's baskets?

I just reached the third part of stage 1, and I have to make at least 330 Aunt Irma's gift baskets.

I wonder what BB where thinking here. 330 gift baskets is over 30 hours of production in a level 5 provision house. And it is a useless buff that I have no interest in making at all in the first place.

Thats it for me, not going to waste more time on this crisis. Will probably be even more ridiculous quests down the line, so better not waste any more time on this.

Sorry BB, but this was not good.

While I agree it's a ridiculous quest, the rewards (gems, starcoins,...) are more than worth it. And there are x2-x3-x4 buffs for the Provision house, and you can sell the buffs if you don't use them.

it is indeed bizarre to be required to make so many of a really really useless buffs (although our low levels are going to love getting spammed with them), but with a barazek on it, which you should have at that level, it's only 8 hours

the one i got after that is http://prntscr.com/e37j8t

but the one above thats where the epic wood yard will come in handy and i've put a chant on it to speed that one up a bit i gemmed the 330 making baskets though but only as i have 2 gem pits here its no great loss to me doing it on that one

The point of a crisis quest is to sink resources. BB could have just as well just asked us to pay the fish/bread/sausages instead of making buffs out of them.

Nope, not 330 baskets, but 450 from 66 . Slap a barazek on.

It is fine by me- but cant see how it uses up my resources when I have to buff myself 160 times. I

The Quest lasts 7 days, longer now cause of the hotfixes etc, there is more than enough time to complete them and like someone mentioned the rewards far outweigh the resources used. Spare a thought for anyone who's in the middle/early stages of upgrading prov house.

The reasoning behind this is quite simple, BB have tailored the quests for the lowest common denominator. Everyone doing the quests has a Provision House, not all have the Rarity Provision House or has the Recipes to make better buffs. Therefore BB are constrained to give us quests to make Baskets. They do however set them in the belief that you have a minimal level of PH for your level. This allows them to increase the difficulty by increasing the numbers of baskets to be made.

Only the shortsighted would call them useless as they can be used for any "Buff a friend" Quest which comes your way.

I have to make 450, so you got it easy :P

Just drop a barazek buff on it, and accept that the whole quest chain isn't going to finish in a day. We got a whole week lol.

first crisis quest for me, but I had to produce 7200 wheat and at level 36 I nearly cried, I just built an extra couple of farms and got on with it as I want that recycler!!

Good luck to everyone on this CQ

One of my first things was produce 2.7k sausages! Just built a few more L1 butchers to speed things up and dropped Elixirs on my 3x Impr. Butchers, thanking myself for having the forethought to buy them in the first place when I have no reason to produce sausages anymore lol

The quests are meant to be a challenge, and not just day-to-day business with our islands, else it wouldn't be much of a crisis quest, would it? :P

That said, it's way better than we've had before with 'find xxx with explorer on yyy search' or 'gain xxx loot from any follow on adv' - purely luck dependant quests.

We all know what our final 'prize' is for the quests, so you have to determine if the quests are worth it to you or not. If not, then don't do them hehe

Rewards make it worthwhile.
Makes a change from the direct pay resources type quests for rewards that are worth less than we shell out for them.

I'm happy to take any unwanted baskets for a fish.

tbh on northisle i know i only have 2 lv 3 bakers and ok im lv 55 there so shouldnt be as many bread needed but think that one will take me some time there im still making sausages at the moment on that one lol but think i will make some temporary bakers when it comes to the bread one on there

Not everyone has barazeks. ;) I think everything is achievable, but I do worry about producing 55k of coal. Yikes.

You can buy barrazek, actually, it is easy for active high level guild mates to give it away for their members! specially if premium players, they got tons of barrazek, I'm not so active, premium and was have like 150 barrazek at least, sold most of them.

True, you can buy them - but they are expensive and lower levels struggle with coins and resources to trade. I'm lucky, I'm in a great guild and help is always available. Still, that 55k of coal...

you dont need the barazek- you just need patience. I am pretty sure there is time to do all the quest without.
( not that I am myself)
What I am saying is we dont need to do all the quest first day - we do have a week.

For me Crisis is great diversion form sometimes rutine playing. Get to improvise and calculate, use not so often used buffs, get to some building and demolishing low level facilities, and rewards, espacially gems, are most then welcome. Have done baskets with barzek, and all the rest with building extra production units. Quest is a challenge but still doable. No complaints whatsoever. Good job BB. :)

EDIT: Has anybody verified if Lonely Marble Block in PH counts towards marble production in Crisis?

As you can see from the image, it does ask "in your workyards". The Provisions House is not a workyard, so the answer is no.

If I remember correctly it did not last time.

we just used a Chocolate rabbit on our provision houses, and used a zone buff (mineing) plus built mines and changed the buff's on recycling/cooking plants to employee buffs for the coal.
Built extra stables and used whip/carrot buff.
used zone buff for the marble plus an employee buff.
all these gave us +6 times buff to get the quests done quicker.
All these buffs are easily got even for lower level people.
and i am not a high level player at 48.
Have 2 friends on level 43 ad 44 who have completed the chain and are building their recycling centers. :) :)
adventures:
Stealing from the rich (resource) can be done on your own or with help loosing only around 200 troops.
Witch of the swamp (experience) for lower levels (both use new general from Christmas (beats up most camps on own with soldiers or elites )
