found a bug on strange idols, the part have your specialists find 5x copper mines and 6x stone mines, they find if all island already has full mines, surely a search is not effective if the geo finds no deposit, pls fix i feel i've cheated again grr

First of all, the quest you are referring to is "A Really Sharp Claw"

According to the wiki page (http://settlersonlinewiki.eu/en/quests/the-excelsiors-letters/a-really-sharp-claw/), it only requires you to use the ability, not to actually find any deposits.

In my opinion, there is no bug here

Excelsior - The Texts ~ A Really Sharp Claw

Note: Credit for completion occurs after sent out geologists (or premium geologists) for copper deposits and stone deposits return. However, it does not require that the search be successful, so geologists who return but are unable to locate a deposit will count for completing the quest.

The wording on this oldish image is a bit confusing, but it's been explained by BB in a few places that the Excelsior quests to "complete" searches only require the search because it's possible some players may have built high end reward and/or shop mines on all their deposits.

hmm ty Iolanth and Mod daz, seamed a tad odd to me to have things clickable, but one may be indeed correct

"Hmm" indeed. This, along with the "simples" from chat earlier make it a little surprising anyone (I) took the time. You are welcome, Salem, and Daz.

The other reason "search only" for recurring quests makes life a lot easier once one is past the earliest, or somewhat more challenging event-specific, quests is that refills for both mines and quarries can mean it takes ages to deplete something in order to find it again.

While I am perfectly content to question "acting as intended" when that plays out in-game as "Bonkers, no way.", in this case "No Bug" does seem appropriate.

although i posted this for BB i aprieciate your input, although not 100% proof that this is a bug or indeed game mechanics as should be
thanks, but as its here maybe an official answer from BB may be in order to clear this up as players we are again guessing

I'm not guessing. It's not a bug. ;)

This quest is working as intended. Some players have built on all their deposits, so this allows them to complete the quest without resorting to destroying their expensive buildings.
