View Full Version : Elite Barracks upgrades beyond level 6 + goals to work towards

So currently, the maximum level of our barracks, both elite and normal are level 6.

In addition we have a large lack of content at a certain level (>56) and certain resource values of the elite kind (*cough* platinum ore) are worth less than water.

Proposal:
Offer 2 very long chains of quests to further upgrade each barracks separately.

The chain to upgrade the elite barracks could involve making numerous buffs which cost a LOT of platinum ore and various other resources. Tasks involving various AB adventures etc.

For example, the quest chain to a level 7 barracks could be:
1. Create 10 barracks modules at 50k platinum ore, 1k maho wood, 1k granite each.
2. run 25 woodcutters
3. <insert some random other tasks
...
x. profit (instantly upgrade barracks to next level on completion)

The follow-up could require say 20 modules, and running 20 first-thieves.
The 3rd 30 modules and running 40 2nd-thieves (hey it has lootspots ;p)
etc..

In theory such a chain could go on indefinitely or to say level 20, with each level decreasing production time of troops, but also significantly increasing in costs and quest chain length.

This would give even long-time players a goal to work towards. It would make certain over-abundant elite resources valuable or a lot more scarce even with the current adventure income. While slowly reducing the very very long production time of elite barracks units.

So, to reiterate: use quest chains that use currently overabundant resources in excessive degrees to make them more valuable/wanted as a resource sink, and give players some QoL/bottleneck-widening in return.

Do you realize this idea would require a average of 63,000 woodcutters to be run.

Not against extra/faster troop production by any means but as Doro points out it would take an excessive amount of adventures. If BB were to introduce some sort of epic quest chain I would much prefer it to result in a Rarity Barracks much the same as the Rarity provisions house, the chain could then be repeatable in the same way as the epic farmyard one is to get recipe to build each troop type.

This could be done for both barracks so that older fairytale adventures get a new lease of life also in the search for recipes for a normal Rarity Barracks.

The forthcoming General science skilltree will most likely include some choices that won't benefit usage of Elite units; and the older FT adventures do need something more to appeal enough to lower my reluctance to skill a finishing-attack general to mainly use the old regular units.

-1 Seems people are forever wanting things done which make game easier and/or faster. Current barracks speed is fine, leave them as they are.

It should be obvious that the numbers used are just to get a general idea, and would be up to BB to tune to a bit more reasonable numbers..

The idea down to its basics would translate to:
1. Use up lots of currently unvalued and overabundant resources
2. Progression of quests through natural gameplay
3. barracks upgrade levels as reward after increasing amounts of time per level.

I like the idea of some kind of barracks speed up, and there does seem to be a lack of quests at higher levels. Not sure about a lvl 9 barracks . But maybe an Elite barracks buff made from the rare resources? I do not see having plenty of an item as an issue that needs solving. But build time is a bit slow, i think.

That is fine but all games evolve, or die. You have MMA don't you? Anyhow you could just ignore the changed content you do not like.
