The introduction of the new generals skills tree highlights that the science system is broken. It takes me a week to produce one tome, and two weeks to produce one codex, so I was only just keeping up with skills for my geos and explorers. It will take at least two years to upskill all my gens, by which time of course I'll have plenty more. The problems are:

1. you can't queue books, so you lose time every time one finishes
2. Hide glue doesn't work the same as buffs on other houses
3. The increase in books required to produce the next one is excessive

Please could you either:

1. remove the increase in books required to produce the next one, or:
2. make the bookbinder the same as the other houses, in that you can queue books and hide glue works the same as other buffs; and give us a better buff than X2

they have already said that the things you proposed will not happen. only thing they have not said anything about is buffs. now would be great time to introduce x3 and x4 buffs to bookbinder. rph already has them so no point in being against it.

I wish would let you queue research in the book binder.. as one of the chosen few without the manuscript recipe, it would be a godsend.

what lvl is your bookbinder? A lvl 3 bookbinder only takes 24h to do tome, manu in less. So you start a book every morning and after 6 days you are done. If you log on more often and upgrade the bookbinder it can be done faster 3-4 days.

Make books in your rph. It has a queue, and 2x, 3x and 4x buffs. No recipe yet? Try again or wait for the fix BB is doing on drop rates.

Not lvl 53 yet? Don't bother with science because you will want to change the build on your gen/geo and start asking for free resets..

(sorry for sounding not very friendly, but this has been discussed at least 10 times on the forum)

i think saying science is broken is a bit harsh. a lot of ppl are always in such a rush to get everything finished. there is no need to hurry with anything in settlers!

I do think u should be able to queue stuff up in bookbinder tho. I never buff mine as half the buff would be wasted when a book is finished and i'm not gonna log on at a specific time just to start a new book immediately.

Yes I think that saying it is broken is absolutely correct. I have nine generals without any skills at all, and haven't even managed to upskill Nusala fully. As for the mauscript recipe - don't make me laugh. I've spent days collecting enough crystals and turning them into books, then done the quest then spent 35k buying a LS on arabian adv, only to get 50 poxy gems. Rinse and repeat ad nauseum. Finally reach level 57, spend two days getting elite troops, do the quest again and hey presto - another poxy 50 gems. Oh and my bookbinder is level 5. Still takes 12 hours to do manuscript, and hide glue is a waste of time. As I said, it's going to take me two years to skill my gens, by which time I'll have plenty more.

The fact that there are so many posts on this only points to the fact that this is rubbish.
