I just popped on to test server ((a great place to find out what u can gain with demo crews, placing buildings, etc) RE: post entitled "Demolition Crew") and found a mountain in a whole new sector on the archipeligo.
can any1 shed any light on this?

The island/volcano has been there since July. The above link appeared on the German servers shortly after.
And so we wait!
no place on my island that looks even close to the sector shown on that german link. it says sector 3 which is in the bottom right of my map and the sea is to the south not the north.. the closest i can find is sector 7 of the archipelago.
Don't you have a band of clouds below your island? There are island under those clouds, you can discover them when you reach lvl 50(?).

it is part of sector 3, some collectives spawn there
It's just a mountain - nothing to see here!
Better to tell clearly what it is ( on testserver it grumbled first few days and no explanation or answers from BB ).
If not, I am afraid BB is reapeating the BK-event mistake --- building up big and different expectations in players - so it is sure most will be disapointed, no matter if result is good or bad.
Mountains grumble all the time! You just need to make sure you don't run out of mountain kibble.

This what I sent to my guildies when I saw it on test server:
I have no idea what the mountain is about, but looks nice, what make it nicer is a building spots, the following image is the new building space available, the red line is the current island shore, so all the green area above red line is new, the blue circle is the new spaces that is currently exist but not available to place building and with new mountain is finally available to place building!

What's to give away - tis but a mere mountain that magically appeared out of thin air! Nothing special at all. ;)
bit more building space is nice, but even if it just turns out to be a decoration can;t we all just admire it :)

I like it, reminds me of Ringworlds "Fist of God".
I can't wait to see what's gonna happen with the mountain/volcano in the future... Maybe it's related to the Halloween event? Or maybe it's gonna be some ongoing new feature, for example to give us quests? Anyway, I personally like the mystery surrounding it. :)
Just hope it won't be like the BK event debacle...

Im very excited at the thought of more building spots alone ... the thought that there could be more is even better :D

The "just a mountain" has been in development for a loooong time. (clues are in where and how it's placed)
There has to be a lot more to it for the long term planning that's gone into it.

That volcano is ugly. Doesn't fit the scenery at that place very well. It would be a lot more tolerable for me if it was somewhere at the north edge of the island. Hope that heap will at least give something usefull. Can we get dynamite to blast it off pls? Btw did the volcano remove some Floating residence spots in the gulf above, or has there always been that few?

I was always wondering why there is no spots for floating residents there, so no, there were no spots there.

this is not fair. we have to look in an extra out of the way place but there is no bonus for the added work.
collectables should not spawn there
or
the max amount should be raised
or
now would be a good time to introduce the 1 crystal reward for finding all the collectables.

As much as i was expecting that would be the case too... if you think about it there is a reason why the new moutain is not part of an arquipelago, if you look at the borders the moutian belongs to sector 3... that's why we also get collies there. Why would BB made that decision??? Whatever they have in the works for the mountain will probably be for levels under 50 so this way everyone sees the mountain.
I would also like some content for levels 62+ but seems it might not be the case... maybe we get a new chain and each fallow up increases level... starting under level 50 ending on higher levels, who knows...
it is part of s3 but players under lvl50 cant get to it. I'm hoping its new content for lvl64-70. bb has put a lot of good work into new content for lvl50+ but 64-70 is a long grind.
