Someone in my guild just asked how old Sandycove is. Does anyone know?

Yesterday was the sixth anniversary of the Sandycove Open Beta test, so we now know: Sandycove started on January 10, 2012.

Hey up. :) Yesterday was the sixth anniversary for this language version going into Open Beta. Newfoundland Realm (World) 1 started as closed beta earlier. Without going and digging too deeply the "birthdays" for each server are roughly:

Newfoundland: November 2011
Northisle: January 2012
Sandycove: May 2012

If anyone wants to refine these, have at it! Looking for the earliest forum posts in each world, the oldest member's join dates (BB join dates may be earlier than the server going live), and the ancient pages in the News Archive on the homepage are useful sources for regular players to check.

To finaize this investigative work on when Sandycove started:
The first forum message I found from a Sandycove player was on 05.05.12: "Hello" from cromanww (https://forum.thesettlersonline.com/threads/17583-hello). A few players like Malificente joined Sandycove apparently as early as 27.04.12, so my guess is that the server started on the latter date. Thank you all for your help.

You joined in June 2012 - that could make you the oldest "surviving" player (if you pardon my using the word "old" in a sentence addressing a lady). - All the other early players I found have not posted anything in the last five years.

Never hurts to change your password or use the OTP option :D

That is the date they validated their email I think. My son has played for years and does not even appear on the members list as he cannot validate his email.

Wow, nice to know! I log in via my Facebook account, so I just checked app permissons from Facebook. I have granted The Settlers Online (UK) permissions on 2nd of May 2012 when I started on Sandycove. The server had only a few players, but didn't know it was that new when I started :eek: Nor did I truly realise I've been playing this game for eight years :D

Ah! I am afraid that did not happen.
Just joined the server yesterday (after a hiatus of about 8 years) and the server is bubbling with activity.
