Wouldn't it be a great move by BB to have them in the merchant not just sell stuff but also buy back the very same items - let's say minus a 10% spread as most merchants would. (And without the items on sale for gems as that is part of their business model.)
Such a move would quickly indicate to BB how realistic their prices are and would take some excess inventory out of the market.

.... And now imagine them trying to sell Storm Recovery in the guild market). :D

Not so keen on the idea, as it would both reduce the absolute amount of trade on the Trade Office and reduce the margins available to active traders.

This would negatively effect game play, reducing item availability and reducing the risk/reward factors involved in trading.

PS, Also 10%? in RL merchants tend to have margins between 50% and 500%, even in game trading, the active traders are looking for margins in the area of 50% to 100%, if this idea was implemented, you would want BB to be the buyer of last resort, offering say 10% or maybe 25% of purchase price.

BB's prices are realistic, they just happen to be priced at a price point to suit a particular market. This is not to say that they are unaware of what the rest of us concider a reasonable price, but what constitutes a reasonable price is not the same for all as it depends which server we play on. The only thing we would be able to agree on is if they set a buy back price is it would not be in the same ballpark that we think it would be in.
