So what's this book material prod boost?
Makes every book related building work twice as fast as usual, meaning twice as many resources as needed, resulting in unbalacing my island as I am losing on every single item: copper, all kind of wood, iron, coal you name it... This is really bad!
Only option for the next 3,5 days is to turn off some of the buildings? Is that how a boost is supposed to work?
Why does it feel more like a punishment rather than a freebie?
Don't care who validated that idea at BB's HQ, instead of simply boosting the output, but this is really bad idea especially as there was no warning in order to prepare the island... Imagine those who just log in a couple of times a week? They'll have empty reserves by the time this "boost campaign" is over...

Only useful if it included the bookbinder & RPH.

We have had a similar production boost before. Some liked it... others didn't (https://forum.thesettlersonline.com/threads/29665-Please-turn-production-week-off).

Agreed that it is impossible to please everyone but what goes wrong in every single relationship if it's not carefully and regularly looked after? Communication.
There was no announcement and this has resulted in a complete mess. According to the link you posted Ozzymandeus, not the first time but obviously who cares at BB's HQ?
I bet a small minority of players will enjoy this boost but the vast majority won't. Simply because islands are not developped enough to suddenly support the needs for more resources. We aren't all at high levels and building licences are scarce.
Over the past few weeks it feels as if BB is enjoying bringing more and more disappointment rather than actually looking at things from a player's viewpoint... Not sure why they'd do that and what plans they have for the future but it doesn't bode well...

When is a bonus output not a bonus output? Easy when it's a BB bonus.

I don't mind the boost, only short term(3 days) and won't really affect storage. Thanks BB! :)

You can shut down buildings, or buff the resources. Hopefully you have enough water/wood/etc. in storage to cover temporary shortages. Personally I'm loving the extra materials output, even though I did need to make some economic adjustments.
