Hello everyone,

there is a new version 0.2.4 of the α-Orionis Centurion Fight Optimiser with the Field Medical General as currently in operation on tsotesting. This is the first and only simulator/optimiser that features this general. When there are changes on tsotesting, I will upgrade as quickly as possible.

Of course Centurion also has the Mountain Clan, Mary Christmas and personalised general skills. Happy simulating and optimising!

Great job with the Centurion, I'm really impressed with this tool.
It has a pretty steep learning curve, but it's excellent when you begin to master it.

Hello everyone,

today version 1.0 of the Centurion Fight Optimiser has been released (https://alphaorioniscenturion.wordpress.com/announcement-en/). This is not the first version of Centurion but the first version which

* features the adventure plan agenda (see screenshot) which is designed to accompany the player during an adventure (user guide chapter 7.2).
* includes 7 types of range buffs in optimisation and simulation jobs.
* after one year of maturing is not a beta version anymore.
* is available with 3 language settings: British English (default), American English, German.

Many thanks go to the beta testers and those who gave feedback during the last year. Of course development goes on. The next version is planned for the end of January, introducing the option to print the agenda.

Hello everyone,

since yesterday on the test server there is a new cook adventure available: 'Split City in Fall'. The next version of Centurion will of course cover this adventure. If you don't want to wait you can download an add-on to version 1.5.0.2, which adds the cook to the Centurion database. Just extract the archive into the folder where your Centurion version is installed.

Hi everything,

I have compiled attacks for players of high levels (all kinds of troops available) to fight the Easter party crashers. I have made the following assumptions:

* Mary Christmas or Boris are available.
* No suicide waves (not necessary).
* No skills.

The images below are screen shots from the agenda view of the Centurion Fight Optimiser:

* The numbers are the numbers of the day of the event where these party crashers can appear first.
* You will find the general used and the troops/units to put in.
* The last column gives some details such as duration, losses, XP, and so on.

The adventure plan file that was used to calculate this can be found and then used in your Centurion installation under this link: Centurion Easter adventure plan (https://1drv.ms/u/s!Aq8Pj5l3q3EmgaFyeBbL5Fc9CEV1uw). You are welcome to refine these calculations, for example with the skills of your generals. Simply download the file and edit it through Centurion.

Links related to the Centurion app are in my message signature (footer).

Have fun and a happy Easter event,

Hello everyone,

today version 1.5.5 of the Centurion Optimiser has been released.

Centurion Downloads (https://alphaorioniscenturion.wordpress.com/downloads/)

Changes

database:
* Camps HuG#16, HuG#22 have been corrected.

UI:
* Job list: new column for the job type. Can be sorted, hidden, moved.
* CTRL-O, CTRL-U, CTRL-S now launch the job definition windows for optimisation, useful generals and simulation respectively.
* Agenda: The name given to an adventure plan item is now displayed in the agenda below the camp number. You may see command lines as names in the agenda in very rare cases in your adventure plan. These have been saved in the past with a Centurion version that accidentally saved the command line as the name. Just remove the name from the adventure plan item and everything will be fine. In the next version you will be able to deactivate this new feature altogether. This may be useful if you put information into the name slot of an adventure plan item that has no place being shown in the agenda.
* Pessimistic combat analysis now processes splash damage correctly. Optimisation results are unaffected and were always correct.
* Drag-and-drop from the job list into the adventure plan is now a “move” not a “copy” when CTRL key is pressed. You can make “move” the default behaviour in the configuration.

The next version will be released at the end of July 2020.

Happy optimising,

i've played with this optimizer for over 24hrs. so far i've managed to add 1 attack for 1 camp in 1 agenda

i would really like to to see a video guide on this.

any chance you could show us how to get 3 agendas for 1 adventure ?
let's say for YWC: 1 agenda for max XP, 1 agenda for Victory Efficient and 1 agenda for Victory XP

i'm getting an error (http://prntscr.com/sa393t) while using a vet general. the one named 1upVet. if i rename it to smtg else, it works just fine
same error with another general (http://prntscr.com/sa3xuq), same name setup

1. is there a way to rename the troops with english server names?

2. how do you populate your agenda? can you select more then one attack and move it from left to right? (http://prntscr.com/shw6r7) (i've tried it and i couldn't)

3. after simulating useful generals for a whole adventure (http://prntscr.com/shw994), how do i move the result to an agenda? or do i have to optimize it first and then move it one-by-one?

4. if you rename a general, you can re-run jobs . also agenda's are not updating with the new name

Hello everyone,

the test server was updated today. The summer event is running there now. It seems there will be a new general "Sylvana" which has the exact same properties as the Boris. It costs 6695 balls or 6999 gems. I will not integrate Sylvana into Centurion, unless BB decides to change the properties. Adventure plans and agendas where you use your Boris can be transferred to Sylvana without change. If BB changes Sylvana, I'll add her to Centurion.

Cheers,

i would really like to to see a video guide on this.

I am really not very good at making videos. That's why I created the user guide (PDF) and a Wiki. There are lots of examples there that you can just follow step by step.

any chance you could show us how to get 3 agendas for 1 adventure ?

Click on the agenda tab of your one-and-only agenda in the adventure plan. There will be a context menu popping up. In the context menu click "create new agenda" and it will be added.

i'm getting an error (http://prntscr.com/sa393t) while using a vet general. the one named 1upVet. if i rename it to smtg else, it works just fine

Don't include numbers in the names of your generals. Call it "OneUp" instead of "1up". When there are numbers in the name, the resolution of your attack configuration into individual troops will fail since it will think you want 1x "up" and that's not there. I guess no-one has ever tried before to put numbers into the names :)

1. is there a way to rename the troops with english server names?

When you switch Centurion to the english language, the troops will be in english as well. However if you mean the acronyms like BSK, RIT and so on, that is something I am working on. Currently they are not language-dependent.

2. how do you populate your agenda? can you select more then one attack and move it from left to right? (http://prntscr.com/shw6r7) (i've tried it and i couldn't)

On the left there is a tree view, not a list. The tree view does not allow multi-selection, unfortunately. So you drag them into the agenda one by one.

3. after simulating useful generals for a whole adventure (http://prntscr.com/shw994), how do i move the result to an agenda? or do i have to optimize it first and then move it one-by-one?

When you have the useful generals result in your adventure plan, open the details of it and launch an optimization from there. The useful generals result itself does not go into the agenda because (A) it isnt fully optimized to the end, only gives you an indication of which general is better than which other one and (B) it is not unique... you need to make an explicit choice which general to use in your agenda.

4. if you rename a general, you can re-run jobs . also agenda's are not updating with the new name

The name that you give to the general world like an acronym. It is a unique identifier. If you change it, it is actually a different general now. For example, the names are part of the command line and when you change the name it is a different command line, so it is a different job, not related to what you calculated previously. Try to figure out a naming system for your generals that doesnt require renaming. If you still have jobs/adventure plan items with the "old" name, leave the old general and create a new one with the new acronym. Keep the old general until you dont need the old jobs anymore, then remove the old general.

Hope that helps, even though not everything I wrote may seem to be the most intuitive solution for you.

Cheers,
aO
:)

Combat analysis is a feature where you can obtain all the details about the course that a particular combat took. Here are situations where this is useful:

* The result of an attack is unexpected and you want to make sure everything has been entered correctly or whether there is maybe an error in the algorithm.
* You want to verify the individual properties of the troops/units in the combat.
* You want to refine your attack configuration.
* You want to understand why the result is what it is.
* You want to know which skills and zone buffs actually have an effect in the combat.

Such a combat analysis can be opened for every result that you calculated in Centurion (simulations, optimisations, useful generals).

https://i.ibb.co/c2VJtw6/Combat-Analysis.png (https://ibb.co/QYt9nkP)

From the combat analysis you'll learn:

* the individual phases of the combat
* which troops attacked with which properties and who defeated who
* which skills were used
* how long it took

There is an optimistic, a pessimistic and a realistic version of combat analysis:

- optimistic: What happens in the best case? When there is an element of chance in the combat, it is assumed to come out in favour of the player.
- pessimistic: What happens in the worst case? When there is an element of chance in the combat, it is assumed to come out in against the player.
- realistic: What is to be expected realistically? Elements of chance will come out for or against the player according to the underlying probabilities (a single simulation).

More details, for example how to launch a combat analysis, can be found in the Wiki (https://centurion-fight-optimser.fandom.com/wiki/Combat_Analysis). There is also a page explaining the parts of a combat (https://centurion-fight-optimser.fandom.com/wiki/Combat_System).

is there a way to optimize without losing any specific troops?

Hi John,

sorry for the late response... I am still not being notified by the forum when there is a new message even though I have subscribed to it.

Currently you can only make it highly unlikely to lose a specific kind of troops by setting its personal value very very high. I am planning to have conditions in the near future where the loss of specific troops can be excluded. The next version will focus on optimising for training times but after that I'll focus on such conditions. However the personal value approach should give you usable results.

Hi John,

I currently don't have plans to do that. The list of generals is already pretty long and it would be redundant. For that same reason there is no Grim Reaper general in Centurion, because it is 100% identical with the Battle-Hardened. I agree that the picture isn't right in the agenda when you have to use Boris instead of Sylvana, there is no arguing about that... but that is actually all, I think.

The next update might be a minor database enhancement for the Misty Cake and then I'll wait until the Halloween event appears on the test server to see what kinds of news it may bring...

any chance you could release a bit more compute power?

right now it sits at 20% CPU. maybe 3 buttons with 2x 3x 4x sort of boost
maybe limit it to 75% CPU usage if you really have to :)

having a few new generals with some good traits, i'm trying to redo my speed scenarios and that little processing boost will help a lot before the xmas event :)

also gonna throw a wild thought out there:

set up orionis with the exact number of generals you've got
let's say you run a useful generals in an adventure to all the camps.
then you move all those results to the left in one folder all together.

now, somehow, you press a button and orionis comes up with an pre-adventure plan, using all the generals you've got, hitting only once per adventure.
then you go back , look at the loses and if you're happy, optimise and assign to an adventure plan

EX: let's say i have 3x nusala, 3x vargus, 3x anslem, 3x steadfast, 3xgemini, 3xboris, 3xsylvana, 3x cloaked, 3xbeard, 3xmg
i do a useful generals sim for YWC
then i use that magic button and generate a possible scenario hitting all camps but not using the same general more then 3 times
after that i optimise and assign to an agenda if happy with the results

could this be done by any chance?

also another one: when you hover mouse over 100% (http://prntscr.com/uhol6r) you could see the first 7-10 generals in that list that win the fight

also: an option to clone an agenda

What is the number of jobs you're allowing to run in parallel? Maybe on your computer this number could be increased? I will check on the resource management when parallel jobs are running.. but right now I think that is at the level of .NET and Windows and I am not certain how many tools I have available there.

also gonna throw a wild thought out there:

set up orionis with the exact number of generals you've got

It sounds like a very convenient process indeed. It would have to start with telling Centurion how many copies of each general I have. I have for example 3xVet and 5xMMA and they are all skilled identical. You want to achieve an optimal usage of all your generals throughout the adventure. So Centurion would have to dispatch all available copies.

On the other hand I haven't come across the idea of optimising it along these lines before. I'm not saying it is not a valid thought... I just have to figure out the consequences it may have for the app. What I usually hear is optimisation for max XP or for max efficiency or least production time in the barracks.

also another one: when you hover mouse over 100% (http://prntscr.com/uhol6r) you could see the first 7-10 generals in that list that win the fight

That can probably be arranged, I'll put it on my list :)

Yes, that thought has crossed my mind before too :) It's not a very hard thing to do. Goes on my list as well.

Thanks... nice thinking you have there :) Much appreciated!

using this on a big HDR screen, it gets very tiring.

Quite possibly I can create a way. I'll play around a little and see what I can come up :)

i'm trying to sim YWC to wave in Frosty with normal troops and then all generals with elites.
i'm looking for 0 loses in elite troops
(planning to do this for all my scenarios/adventures)

What Objective shall i use for this?
i've started with typing in LosslessLastWave in that command window.

is there a way for us to add/amend the Objective list?

... i'm looking for 0 loses in elite troops ... What Objective shall i use for this?

Hi John,

thanks for your question. Currently there is no mode/objective where you are guaranteed to have no losses in a specific wave or troop. This is because Centurion does trade-offs based on the personal values, that you assigned to the troops. So if you have R with a personal, value of 1.0 and lets say BSS with a personal value of 999, Centurion will still trade a 0.00001% of losing one BSS for the certain loss of 1R. Because on average you're better off that way.

But I understand the intention and the request. I know that sometimes there are quests where you are asked to run an attack without losses and you'd like to be certain in that case. It has been suggested by a couple of users now to do something on that front. My inclination would be to introduce a condition of that sort. There are already a set of conditions available, but none of the sort that you are looking for. But your idea of simply having a lossless last wave is also enticing. It would not be an objective though... it would be a combination of an existing objective with a condition that says so.

At the moment with the current version I can only suggest you fire up the personal values for the elite units if possible and then live with whatever tiny amounts of unlikely losses you have there. Here is an example of what I mean:

123B;2LB;TrbB+ && 175BSS;TrbB+ ==> 162EP/PLVMix, 107,86+0,5PLVMix, NKZ 32,6min+6,4s, [30-30,0-40]s Dauer, [108,4-108,4-161]PLV, PlrDd 112B;1LB;[0-0,0-2]BSS;1TrbB+, [17.523-17.523,5-17.524]EP

In the last wave you have [0-0.0-2]BSS, so you have to be prepared to lose up to 2BSS but the mean value is 0.0, so less that 0.05 because otherwise it would say 0.1. I usually live with that. You could run this attack 20x and lose 1BSS combined.

I will draw up something though for a future version...

i am simulating a lot of maps from landing straight to last leader (http://prntscr.com/zewo0r)

it seems that CAMP column is not lining up the camps, top to bottom.(i have about 20 camps in there)
is that an easy fix by any chance?

You are simulating as if you are attacking all the camps in just one go. You combined them with "+" in one command line. Is that really what you want to do? Aren't you rather running several attacks, one after the other? Then you should optimise/simulate them individually, not in one job. Then they will appear vertically, not all in one line.

yeah, i'm chaining a lot of camps from landing all the way to the last leader. (yes all combined with +)
since ghosts are fast and strong i send them all ahead to clear what they can and then i follow up with others when they land

Hello everyone,

today version 1.6.2.8 of the Centurion Optimiser has been released.

Centurion Downloads (https://alphaorioniscenturion.wordpress.com/downloads/)

Changes

database:
* New Nutcracker general added. Hint: The general’s hitpoints are currently displayed to be 3,900 on TSO testing, as if the “tough-as-wood” property applies to the general itself. This would be in stark contrast to the Ghost General where this is not the case. Probably this is a bug. If this behaviour is deployed to the actual game and not classified as a bug, there will be a Centurion update.

UI:
* Bug fixed that prevented the previous version to detect new releases of Centurion. Publishing platform is now AWS, not WordPress/OneDrive anymore.

The next version will be released at the end of Apri 2022.

hi there

every time i open Useful Generals (https://prnt.sc/B-An3w15OBtu) it defaults with some generals i don't want to use
(as you can see there's no generals in the command line at the bottom)

when i add and then remove a general i want to use, exactly those first generals are still being added with the command line

even when i UNclick those general (https://prnt.sc/l6XihFfOI7Fj), they are still being present in the command line

when i delete and run a command with the generals i want (let's say just Nusala this time (https://prnt.sc/k5xV8QOVkKu4)),
after i choose Apply to other camps, it's still adding those extra default generals too (https://prnt.sc/AoqrfRSlcgqK)

what am i doing wrong here?
i've tried new OS, new download, new install location. no luck
