anyone else having problems cant open any chat tab and also the advent calender has all doors open
also completed tasks cant tick ....seeing you have a test server how do you keep messing up seems to be every single event now its not so much will we have a hotfix but when will we have it

Yes, clicking Advent Calendar window crews up all the quests. What a shambles

cannot open advent calendar 1st window
all quest boxes are dead
chat dialogue disappears
cannot change guild/friends bar
generals windows are AWOL
Mayor house is empty
etc, etc, etc

yep same here game is broken even more now
A shambles. The very first thing you have to do....
new record... after few minutes all frozen... empty windows ... omg... :-)

And there is no adventure after "open" the door.

Yep, seems activating the xmas event completely broke the game. I have all the problems OP has.
clear cache doesnt help...
U can get it going again by log off/log on but it will only last about 30 seconds

Keeping well way from the calendar seemed to help, but now Xmas market has vanished!
Ya... Event Calendar Window broke it.. you cant get it first...after that... Quest gone, MH gone...windows gone..
Same here, i can see all rewards in event callendar, cannot receive first reward. Opening event callendar glitches game and reload is needed. Christmas market disappeared after delivering ducks and upgrading it.

I got as far as upgrading the market, at which point it disappeared.
Also, the calendar failed to deliver the "Getting into the Christmas Spirit" adventure, rendering that particular quest a tad tricky, to say the least.
Now I cannot log in! It gave me session timeout immediately after log-on!

without Event Calendar it looks work normally... i have 90 presents... and it goes forward without frozen/emtpy windows...
Same here star is completely empty, can't do quests, can't pull up chat window, can't expand options dropdown, roll over friends at the bottom and they disappear - jeez don't you guys test anything before you release it?
This game is rapidly turning into a farce - BB why don't you just pull the plug?
Opened the advent calendar and found all doors open, after that quest book and chat tabs unresponsive.

same here. as soon as i open the advent calendar the game breaks. the animation becomes very juddery and none of the menu's work, the star menu is empty, can't select anything
Servers going down messages.
Bit worrying, just got the problem by visiting someone else's Island then going back. Didn't access the calendar.

Another wasted evening trying to play after start of event. Can't do anything on the home island, not even send out explorers.
They better not make us pay for opening missed advent calendar windows.

I should also point out that the bug is triggered by returning to the home island from an adventure, was only able to test this once before the hotfix started.

I have the same.
Build menu; I get the tabs at the bottom, but there are no buildings above them.
Star menu; I get to open and see the tabs at the bottom, but its totally empty and I cannot change tabs.
Mail; can't open.
Chat; I have the box and the tabs. But they're all empty.
Generals; they are there, but click on one and I get a much smaller popup than normal, with nothing in it.
Advent calendar; can open the calendar window, all doors show as opened.
Quest book; Can open. Main quest tab is there and shows quests. All quests that aren't main quests are gone.
In sum; I cannot do anything, the game is completely broken. (I mean, even the merchant isn't working, so I can't even spend gems!)
So if I understand well, the event calendar do not work, we can't get the adventure :( hope it will be fixed in the maintenance ... an hour after beginning of event, it's a record I think :(
I'm lucky (in a way), by the time I decided to login the servers were shutting down for maintenance :)
Grrrr, wanted to login, so that i can look for the collectables, maintaince right away... OMG, this must be an new record.
Confirmed - and calendar doors are all opened in advance. Some bad elf has been by making trouble.

Because they started doing a much needed hotfix. Let us hope it gets the troop window to not pop up during log in. The elf to close all the calendar doors, and everything else including chat back to normal

Thats way too fast. Seems like they knew stuff was broken and didnt do anything about it.

There is no Christmas market on the event island.
I had a Christmas market, the maintenance man took it
The game does not work again, it has been the same problem for many years, you can not buy precious stones, exelcior hangs, flash player crashes ect. :(
I dont have Christmas market as well, and it use to be there!

On the Christmas main quest - "Spreading the Christmas Message", mine is showing with all the subquests locked. My fellow guildies had this available from the start with no prerequisite quests to complete first. Most had the opening quest of produce 3 ducks and had a christmas market in the centre. I do not have this and the quest chain is locked. Making the ducks made no difference to try and kick start it into action.
I first logged on a few hours after the hot fix that occurred shortly after the event started, and everything seemed to be working for me, with the exception of this quest chain not starting up.

You still don't have the market in the center island but you do have the 3 ducks?

No market or bridge leading to central isle. Anyone can make ducks in the PH. You don't need an open quest for that. I made them just in case it decided to come up as quest complete. Which of course it didn't.

For me the greyed out quests didn't "pop" until I clicked the quest in the questbook. Was the same for all Xmas quests actually. The ones with subquests at any rate. As in literally selecting the main quest in questbook and waiting a few seconds for it to register.

I have a suggestion.... why dont the gnomes actually do some WORK? Perhaps they could even sit at a desk 24/7 and do running repairs (or should that be sitting repairs?)
Another hotfix? Really? Are there even people with some intelligence over at BB's? Like to thank them for messing up my buffs........ again
And not to forget my explorers, who will do nothing all day long 'cause, believe it or not, some folks have te work for real!

We need a roadmap for all hotfixes during the event. I can then properly plan explorer times and buffs. On the other hand the script to send compensations seems to work just fine - one can easily schedule it to run twice a day...

knowing bb their be a hotfix ever 1 week but inbetween their be 3 hotfix to fix the hotfix

The annoying thing is, I sent a ticket to support, and i pretty much got their standard response about it sounding like a cache issue, so clear cache, flash cache and DNS cache. Clearly it has nothing to do with people clearing their cache or not, as otherwise there would not be a hotfix to rectify the problem, if it was just on my end. After playing the game for a number of years now, by now we all know about clearing the cache, so their standard reply, really isn't very helpful. One wonders if there is any support tickets answered that do not suggest clearing the cache to resolve an issue. My last dozen contacts with support have all pretty much given the same reply.

Clearing the cache is a very important troubleshooting step. While in your experience it hasn't been the source of any issues you've faced, we still on a daily basis see that it resolves issues for players who contact us. If we merely disregard it while trying to troubleshoot an issue, all you do is undermine your accuracy in determining the source of the problem.

As far as the Hotfix goes, I wonder if they would replace the collectibles I missed. They matter a bit right now.

I would if that was showing. I haven't been given the mission and it doesn't show in events or in aventure list. I cannot get my market without completing it.
I have refreshed, cleared cahe. Nothing changes.
Do it require week 2 to start? Is it part of rollover into week 2?
difficult to sort out when the is a quest and an adventure with same name. I think I understand it will resolve when I roll into week 2, which I think is tomorrow for me.

the next stage spreading the Christmas Message is complete the QUEST Winter Wonderland not the adventure; if you look in your quest log you will see this quest; the adventure Winter Wonderland is the reward for completing the next stage of the Winter Wonderland quest chain which cannot be done till week 2 of the event
A fix going forward (next time some cosmetic issues are being fixed) is the buff for the Smelter Calendar (if this has been mentioned - forgive). There is only the buff name. All other buffs show the effect, duration, friend duration if that applies. To know for sure what it does you need to go to the provision house and open the queue for one.

So basically if a smelter has a steak buff running the Xmas market won't have any effect at all. Which makes it pretty much useless. Not sure if that was the intent or just a bug?
I realized once upgraded the Xmas market will be better than a steak but only for 12 hours :)

It's not a bug. It's an area buff like forest offering, kitty lure etc etc, so won't stack with normal buffs. So basically replaces a lot of steaking and can get better buffs. If I understood it 2 markets can cut cooldown down so can do it every 12hrs.

Hi! I can't finish The Winter wonderland -> Evil in disguise sub-quest. The task is to Wait until the third week of event from Log in. The Christmas event is almost finished. I logged out, cleared the cache, nothing worked. Anybody had similar issues? Thanks!

If you did not login during the first event week then you probably will not be able to complete it.
I was a little shocked to see that you needed to upgrade both markets ... I did 2 different group of buildings that I want to buff the most, will need to alternate ... I don't see the point to get a 3rd next year unless you want another set of buildings to benefit from time to time to be buffed as a group ... I have a gold unit and a weapons unit with saltpeter chain ... Next year I'll upgrade both markets to the max ...

Why would you need to upgrade both? it does not even make that much sense since you cant really run them at the same time because the cooldown is shared. Its more efficient and cheaper to upgrade just one to max lvl and place everything around it, or even just move the upgraded one around the map.
