Archeological Geologist bug?

Tooltip keeps saying that he will only find buffs when looking for coal, but that can't be right, right? :)

Mine brought me 2 zombies back on his first trip out - since then nothing - & I do know the probability is just 25% each time. My fellow guildies are doing much better & have or are planning to buy a second.

You should have empty node slot on island when you start search. In this geologist description says it should be successful search, so if you have all nodes on your island already and there is no more nodes to search geologist can't complete search successful and that's why you not getting buffs.

even if a mine not built? other geos will meet a quest if, e,g., a coal deposit is found but not built on?

every find is telling that you have to find a coal deposit for a chance of finding treasure, probably a paste and copy job without reading.

every tooltip for the 25% chance getting a gift starting with coal says 25 % to find treasure for finding coal deposit
for coal and all other following deposits

Bought one during the event and it came back with some good stuff early on, so bought another. Since then, after many searches (all successful deposit searches that add a new deposit each time) I've hardly had anything. The 25% has dropped to well under 5% on average, so looks like I've wasted my soccer balls.

Start a well building, then start coal deposit/s building, immediately knock down the coal which is not yet built to clear the coal spot giving 100% resource refund. Send out the geologist again. Rinse and repeat.

Incidentally it seems he also finds treasure on granite searches.

Has a 25% chance of finding treasure when successfully discovering a deposit (coal, gold, granite, titanium, saltpeter).
This can be a deposit refiller, a buff or even book.

25% overall is probably correct. However, my experience is that he finds treasure on granite searches almost every time. On the rest, very rarely.

I bought one and it brought back some good stuff regularly on coal searches, so I bought another. Since then hardly anything from either of them on coal searches. A few things over a couple of weeks, but for the last 4 days, sending them both out several times a day, absolutely nothing, from coal, titanium or granite searches. For me, way under 25% overall, and 0% for 4 days and at least 16 searches, probably 20 or more.
