Was happy to see on the homepage that there are new levels to be introduced and went to investigate...there was nothing,no new content, buildings, adventures nothing..the last time BB introduced new levels they came with Arch islands,Elite Buildings and Alis/new adventures, giving players some motivation and reason to play and gain these new levels....so as it stands atm and I hope I'm wrong and BB are just keeping the new content secret it is just a massive expanse of nothingness, they have actually made it even less motivating to pass level 71.....1.6 billion XP for no other reason than a shiny new number under your username.
I feel sorry for the level 74's who had the very small reason to get to level 75 to farm some star coins for PFB's etc..now they added another 1 bill to get there LOL...Like I say I hope I'm wrong but if not BB look like they added nothing and tbh nothing is better than what they are proposing and should expect some backlash for their "New Levels"...
Is this just a way to shup up level 75 players for another 6/12 months?
Do they think grinding another 1 billion for no reason is what the players want?

Its irrelevant what players want, whats relevant is it will keep some mindless grinders playing.
Also even if they did introduce new content for 75+, its essentially worthless since vast majority of players will never reach those levels anyway.
for another 6/12 months
optimistic.

I feel the same - pointless grinding of adventures just to change a number... There seems no incentive. In fact just seeing the green bar barely move from week to week will have the opposite effect for me, no motivation to continue playing, especially losing the star coins.
Perhaps making it an extra 25 levels but REDUCE the amount of xp required between the levels would be more inspiring...

The best thing BB have done of late is to introduce the tributes. I was happy to do 50 grain conflicts, or 20 storm recovery to manage the achievement but that is very different to doing the same small family of adventures thousands of times day in/day out. I have always said I am not chasing level 75/80/100 or whatever they come up with, I play for the enjoyment of some chat, doing a few adventures etc and not the constant grinding of adventures to chase xp. I feel for those who have been banging away heading for 75 and then see the finishing line moved to double the distance. Sadly BB seem to have little grasp of what actually motivates people to pres the 'login' button. New content is great - new adventures, new short sharp challenges - are great. New generals, explorers, geologists and even buildings contribute very little. The idea of 2/3/4/5 billion xp ahead will push many, who want to reach the top level, out of the door.
Can't upgrade endless mines to lvl7, only normal ones, no thanks!

Best way to give BB some (potentially uselful, although it will probably be ignored yet again) feedback about the xmas event's latest feats, is to leave your comments in the forum of the test server.
It is otherwise pointless talking here about something happening elsewhere.

I'm level 71, I gave up, just waiting the say of game to be dead.
Take forever to level and there is no reason to level in anyway.
Level 80 is a big mistake

Level 80 is a big mistake
It's not a mistake I am level 73 almost 74 I am gutted they moved the levels up was looking forward to building up starcoins i use thousands per week ..but even i wouldnt say it was a mistake its not the games fault we level at a slow pace ..nice to see so much being added its just the fact so much of is gem based that bothers me
its not the games fault we level at a slow pace
Its precisely the games fault scaling is what it is.
Ironically enough if everyone decided on doing adventures to level up quicker, it would actually slow down the progression of top players, because the content you can do to level up optimally is very limited due to RNG and overall adventure scaling vs XP requirements.
Maybe BB could introduce some way of gaining big XP that doesn't involve the current style of endless addie grinding.
Since it's supposed to be a 'settlement management' game how about giving us some settling or economy based adventures to do, anything that doesn't involve endless repetitive fighting
At least give players the option of how they can progress, economically or militarily

uhm, scenarios ? This was the exact reason they introduced them.
The problem is though, theyre far more trivial than adventures and require almost zero effort to do, hence they cant reward anything that even comes close to adventures.

Which is why I suggested big XP versions of what we've currently got.
Instead of trivial easy-to-do scenarios let's have big, involved economy or crisis type addies to do that will be able to offer better rewards
But thats the point, no matter where you try to set the difficulty level, it will always be trivial, because the game allows barely anything more than produce/ own/ spend, and 2 of those 3 can be easily cheesed by having resources beforehand, when the third one simply requires you to buff your production and wait.

3 or 4 weeks away from 75, I was looking forward to a rest, building up star coins and doing my own thing... guess I can do the last bit myself and stop levelling 'just because its there'. What really annoys me is just springing it on us so there can be no planning. Back when we were at 50 we had time to garner star coins before we had to start levelling again, this time we just had an event where we could get 2 more labs. I thought long and hard before deciding just to get 1, after all I would be level 75 in a few weeks and wouldn't need to make as many star coins. Had I known there would be level 76 and beyond and no star coins I might well have made another decision. At least its geed up my petty complaining. Thx BB
Need to double the XP to get to lvl.80. Took almost 6 years to get to lvl.74..and now they change it to lv.80. What brain-dead people work there. They are supposed to be promoting the game for the release of the settlers Alliance. The way they are going there will not be many left to play that alliance version. MOST will have QUIT!!
That is one of the stupidest things they have come up with. Those that raced to lvl.75 is there own doing... People have taken it slower as the game is designed to run... and they go and ruin it. Seriously .... wake up Devs and BB and let the game run how it was supposed to be run like all the previous settler games.
STOP TRYING TO RUIN SETTLERS. Its has probably been running longer than some of the devs ruining it. Settlers started in 1994. If you are going to be brain dead and keep it at level 80.... (silly you) then you need to treble or quadruple all loot and XP on all adventures to keep the game playable.

BTW... only have 23x lvl.75's in my friends list... ou are introducing the level.80 way,way to early
I disagree- I think farming starcoin at max lvl is game destabilazing with all the goodies to buy with the star coin and too easy a source for them. So new levels stops that- there will be a backlog of coins that will leave the system soon enough now that the farm is stopped.
Back to farming platinum and doing pathfinders to get the star coins for special items like PFB and the buff-kills, which means you have to make choices again- Farm platinum or buy less items in the merchant with the star coins instead of having it all and keep piling on star coin in the storehouse - for the adventuring max levelled people

I would argue its not as much destabilizing as it is pointless, considering that all of the bonuses you can buy only make sense as a suplement of the process of doing adventures, which becomes pointless the moment you reach max level.
I could never understand how any one sane would spend any time farming adventures to be able to afford a buff that costs 10k SCs they cant even use on themselves....
Am at level 75 since a short while, and love it. no more rush to do adv for xp, time to spend at other games, best thing ever!!!
And now BB wants to ruin it with 5 new levels???
Was thinking of staying in the game, lazy doing nothing except helping others to get to 75 too, but now I am seriously thinking of stopping with this game all together.
Wich will be hard after 7 years, but really dont want the stress of hunting xp again, so bad decission BB!!!

They get swapped so you end up with the benefit of the buff anyway )
I dont know why new levels should change anyones plan to stop XP chasing at level 75 - no reward or pressure for anyone but oneself to level up. If you decided to stop hunting XP at level 75 ( or any other level ) then do so :)
And regarding new contents - someone made me look in trade - if you search in price you can select a ( unknown to me at least ) new adventure - called 'colossal cave'. !!

'Colossal Cave' That must be the black hole we will all end up disappearing into.
Band head against wall, to stop the venom , that I want to emit with this level upgrade.
'Colossal Cave' That must be the black hole we will all end up disappearing into.
My thoughts exactly! :D
I wonder if it will be something similar (but with battles) to the original text adventure game from the mid-70's?
"To your left, a dungeon and to your right, a pathway leading to a clearing" - "Go West!"
The new content we have had lately , they seem to think that slow is interesting and slow is hard, so they make the gens move in slow motion.
For me that is boring, and it also get s boring when I have a lot of strong gens that can manage most of the current adventures with very low cost, then I can just give my resources up in stupid weekly nightmares instead.
I am thinking that this is the gem and money machine that is setting in - and speeding up - to get the most out of us for when they close the game in a year when flash dies. Easy to make a few new levers for us to stay in and use some more money on they game. The introduction of many very strong gens - and opening for us to get at lot of strong gens with gems, and no new content confirms my thoughts.
