View Full Version : Fairy Dust has stopped working after the last game update
Tested and verified by noting the position of a collectible in daily "collect all" task, applying Fairy Dust and the collectible not being repositioned.

How to find the last “hidden” collectables when Fairy Dust is not working any more.
Using the magnification program that Windows is providing makes it “easy”.
Start the program by pressing (and holding) the Windows key and then key with the + sign.
The magnification program will start now.
If this is the first time U use it, a small Window will appear whit the name in it and the keys for minimize, maximize and close. It is a nice “Window”, but in the way so minimizing it is the best thing to do.
Now the program has started press (if you stopped holding the Windows key) the Windows key and the + key, now you will have a 200% magnification of the screen, notice that it will centre around the position of your mouse arrow so if you want to start searching in a corner of the island you better position the mouse over there.
Each time pressing Windows & + key again will take U up an other 100%.
By the time you have 500% or 600% everything in the screen is mouseover, and anything with a name will be displayed, moving around however is difficult, so best put the mouse arrow in the middle of the screen and slowly move around with arrow keys on your keyboard, if there is a hidden collectable the name will now be “filling” half your screen
To go back to the normal 100% screen press Windows & - keys.
To stop the program press Windows & Esc keys.
If you press Windows & Esc keys when in 200% (or more) mode this will be remembered and the program will start up next time in the mode you stopped.
Have fun searching.
Thanks but that's a pain to have to use.
Far better to fix the problem.
My guess is all collectibles have accidentally been set to fixed spawning
Support are aware and currently working on the issue.
Good... hopefully they fix this soon. this buff is a life saver for me on scenarios when collies go behind mountains.
If you find a collectable in a spot which is completely obscured, place a 1x1 decoration (such as a flower bed) on the same spot to prevent more collectables spawning there.
Some have fairy dust working - I use Chromium on Linux and also tested on Firefox - it dont work - Friend use Explorer - and it worked - I dont know if it is browser or something else that makes the difference.
also tested Edge on Window - did not work

Also not working on the slim client
really big trouble not working
Bug verified, support supposedly working on it and one month later, still not fixed. That's very poor.

I am starting to get tired to try to find the last collectible. And I waste a lot of time!!!
Another game update and still not fixed.
Just a reminder before the next event - WE WANT Fairy Dust BACK!
Fix implemented with update 16/06/20 (https://forum.thesettlersonline.com/threads/37750-Change-Log-16-06-20)

Still not working!!!
Still not working!!!
maybe you have to use it again, but works here too
does not work with me. very irritating. someone else with the same problem?
I've found that it does not work right away, I'm having to wait a few minutes sometimes for the island to update with the collectables new locations.

Yes there is always a bit of lag. Should be added it just moves them. Sometimes that means into spots equally hard to spot. And since it seems you have to find some before others become visible sometimes (yes I've tested it) it may take an application or two for Dust to really seem like it works.
If you have the drop-down open in the pop-up for collectibels - then you can see the numbers change to 0/0 for a few second while they are relocated
yep and it works before 30 sec. is gone by
