Adv expired when the timer said there was still 5 minutes left

Joined a valiant little tailor adv when there was very little time left.
Sent 5 generals to the final castle from the start of the island. Before the attack started there was ~22 min left.
After 2 of them had attacked, there was 5 min left according to the timer.
-> UI pop up came saying 'this adv has expired'.

Is this intentional behavior? And no, the host of the adv was not online so he could not be there to cancel it.

VLT has a lifespan of 12 days but for some reason you joined it with about half an hour left, with the host awol and you sent from the landing spot rather than moving up closer?
If that isn't dodgy and the sheer definition of playing with fire, then I don't know what is...

Anyhow, and even though I've never ever ran any adv so close from the expiring line, the timer isn't a countdown so basically it was telling you there was max 5 mins (but probably less each second) to complete the adventure.
If on top of that you throw a pinch of server lag then you're doomed...

BB has some timer issues - GQ also somtimes finish up to 10 min early - so maybe timer for host was 5 min early compared to what your timer showed.

If the owner is not around (which I assume is the case since the adventure expires) theres no point in using debuffs because since adv was not completed you're not getting loot anyway, only negligible amount of xp.

You either manage to complete it yourself or might aswell ignore it.

I have had the same mis-timer issue with the guild quests.

Today when I logged on chat, person posting just before was logged as 15:45. I typed a reply that registers as 15:38 in chat. There's a certain give or take to the timers in the game based off if it uses local or server's time.
