Hi!
I don't want to use "client". I did pay for the Premium access for the next year. I want to have access to my game via browser, as before. I wasn't warn about any "client". What I have to do to play via browser only?
Thanks.
UPD:
I can't install any launchers on my corporate MDM laptop. How I can work remotely,- without TSO on the backdrop page? Awful experience in the nearest future. I feel badly...

You cant as BB has stated that the client will be the only way after client play has been activated.

"The answer: "No", as soon as the client is there and the server has been rewritten or activated on Adobe Air (Harman), you will no longer come into play without the client. You cannot choose "either client" or "flash", but only the client after activation - even if your flash would still work. At least until the Unity version is finally activated in the new year."

To play in the browser only you will need to wait till around april next year for when the unity server is (cough) up and running
UGH!?! What about linux users???

Minha conta antiga não esta sendo carregada, ao fazer login pelo facebook.
I must join the choir of users not able to play the game anymore because of a broken client.
Ubisoft, please admit the mistake and roll back the client. This is ridiculous...
I was surprised myself that they just completely cut browser play off. Thought they will implement both - client and browser - so we can stay with browser as long as possible.

I got in without any issues. But still prefer browser as it allows me to CTRL+ the window, which then Flash remembers, while client doesn't accept this blow up, so all texts are minuscule for me and I can hardly see.

I think this game is over.
One week ago, I paid for a premium the following year.
But Ubisoft did the same to me as usual. No disappointments, I have known for many years that this is a brazen company.
It was the last game from them that I still played.

When I download the new client, The only option I get is to uninstall it, Can't open it at all. Using 64 bit Windows 7

You don't run the client directly, it gets launched from your web browser when you click the big blue play button.
This is written in the instructions from BB and it doesn't even create a shortcut so it should be pretty obvious you don't run it directly.
I did click the blue button it downloaded the application, But can't open it. The only option I have is to uninstall it.
I downloaded the client earlier there was a shortcut for it, It opened but when it started loading it just froze, So I uninstalled it and tried to re install it, But then didn't work at all
I downloaded the client earlier there was a shortcut for it, It opened but when it started loading it just froze, So I uninstalled it and tried to re install it, But then didn't work at all
the game is started by pressing the same blue "play now" button on the web page as before. If the cient is correctly installed, pressing the button will start the new client automatically.
https://forum.thesettlersonline.com/threads/38014-LIVESERVER-New-downloadable-client
I press the blue play now button, A window pops up with "Allow this site to open the tso link". I click on "choose application" The settlers online installer.exe comes up, Then I click on open link. I get "Do you want to run this file?" I click on run, Then select the destination folder, Click on next, Then on install, But then nothing happens. I look in my list of programs find the "The settlers online" folder I open it and the only option is to uninstall. I've already read that link you posted was no help at all. If I click on the blue button again I just get that pop up to choose application again.
don't select the installer when you click the "play now". First run the installer (probably from Downloads-folder) and then click the "play now". Then you should be offeren to run the "The Settlers Online" application. If you have to browse the application it can be found from C:\Users\YourUsernameHere\AppData\Local\Ubisoft\Th e Settlers Online\
I've run the installer, But when I click the "play now" I just get the installer again, When browse for the application in C:\Users\YourUsernameHere\AppData\Local\Ubisoft\Th e Settlers Online\ There's nothing there to open the client only to uninstall it.
Hello people, here is the solution:
1- go to:
C:\Users\(YOUR PC NAME)\AppData\Local\Ubisoft\The Settlers Online
2- Right clic on:The Settlers Online
3- Go to PROPERTIES
4- A window will popup, look for COMPATIBILITY
5- in the down part is a box named SETTINGS
6- Click on "RUN THIS PROGRAM AS ADMINISTRATOR"
7- APPLY
8- ACCEPT
9- open
https://www.thesettlersonline.com/en/homepage
Press PLAY NOW
10- a security message box from Windows will appear, it will just ask if you want to run the program as administrator, just accept it and enjoy the game.
PS, check this IMAGE https://ibb.co/HVGwfnb
Where do I find COMPATIBILITY? Can't seem to find it. I found on the uninstall tab, But not on the Settlers online folder
I've run the installer, But when I click the "play now" I just get the installer again, When browse for the application in C:\Users\YourUsernameHere\AppData\Local\Ubisoft\Th e Settlers Online\ There's nothing there to open the client only to uninstall it.
If you as your earlier message indicates in the browser picked the "TSO Installer" to run you need to change this because you are pointing the Play button to installer not the actual client installed.
I would suggest 1) uninstall everything.
2) download the installer form the separate installer link on the homepage not through the Play Now button. https://www.thesettlersonline.com/en/download-game
3) go into browser settings, this will depend on browser so I can't say off the top my head how, on Firefox it's Tools - Settings, General tab and scroll down to "Application" where you should find a "tso" basically it is a MIME-type of it's own. There you should be able to change to link to the client software installed as of 2)
I'm almost inclined to suggest you try a nice new clean browser install so there's no legacy problems connected. If you sue Friefox, get Chrome just for this, or other way around. Then we can debug the original install issue once you get it working on something where can follow all the original advice cleanly. (It is something I did when trying to get my Steam account moved over because I've been logged in various ways through the main browser I use.)
if you know how it is also likely you can just clear in the browser the stored link where "tso" links are associated to the application and just run the installer from the folder you downloaded it to.
Note that even when correctly installed the Play Now will pop the Download page. It always does that. It should briefly flash a Settlers overlay and then open the TSO client. And then start loading up the game, whihc can take a surprisingly long time and it will insist it is not responding but ti's just a matter of waiting.
Thanks DustyAn Why hadn't I thought of this earlier, still takes a good 10 minutes to load but it now works.
Missed the entire Christmas event - COME ON UBISOFT re start the damn event or give us some other event when you fix this screw up - Call it 'Were sorry for messing up the one period a year we can play a lot of this damn game' event
Hey guys,
The right solution for running the game under Win7 Pro 64 bit and Firefox is what the SnowBlizz is giving on 26 December. Most important part is: "3) go into browser settings, this will depend on browser so I can't say off the top my head how, on Firefox it's Tools - Settings, General tab and scroll down to "Application" where you should find a "tso" basically it is a MIME-type of it's own. "
In my Firefox the correct setting is in Options>General>Applications. Just show where is the Client.exe file in the folder Client, not in the main directory...
Thank you SnowBlizz!
Hi
I was shortly happy...
Now the client loads but after few seconds it says "connection issue - Connection to the server has been lost".
No firewall or antivirus should block it.
And very often it happens to freeze...
My internet is through UTP and the download speed is about 50 Mbps which should be enough.
Running under 64 bit Win 7 Pro and 64 bit Firefox version 84.
I am fighting with the game more than a week. And nobody suggested a good solution.
Hopefully on my company computer the game works (slowly with a lot of hangs) and I am playing remotely... By the way my company computer is with same parameters as this one...

After not having played for quite a while I decided to get in again.
After finding out that I need a separate client I downloaded as per requirement, uninstalled the old one and installed the new one.
This is as far as I get.

So what do I do now to play as it gets stuck there, I can't get any further.

Same as...
I've been playing with this client since it was released a few weeks ago and it's been fine until today. I get to the same screen when I get program not responding.
I'm guessing this is a new glitch as all was well yesterday... Any ideas BB?...

Give it time, sometimes up to 5 minutes to log in from that point.
Client is still flash so will share all the "bugs" of flash. Sometimes unresponsive, sometimes freezes, sometimes doesn't load correctly first time. I just reload, or wait a bit, then reload. Never have to wait 5 or 10 mins for the client to load.
EDIT: Also, their servers are messed up as sometimes TSO whatever page loads as slow as snail while everything else jumps up as a mountain goat.

Well, strangely enough it finished loading after I klicked "play now" again, or I just managed to time it right.
After this it's only taken a few seconds after I started so don't know why it was like that the first time.

Well, I've figured out that if I've had the game closed for a while it always gets stuck. If I close it and start it again it just goes straight into the game. This is a bit of an odd behaviour.
I've had no problems before today when I am having trouble loading it & then after a while it sticks. I have to go into Task Manager to close it & it takes several 'gos' to start it again. Disappointing when I had been a bit smug about how few problems I was having.

Is it normal to take anywhere between 5 to 10 minutes to log in the game with this new client? Also, I noticed a slow, but steady, increase in RAM usage over time. Is this behavior normal?
I've got this problem - after pressing the button Play it starts the client but after that it hangs for a while and after about half a minute it gives <<Connection to the server has been lost...>>
I am fighting several weeks already, I've posted this problem several times and nobody is answering.
- Win 7 Pro 64 bit / Firefox v. 84.0.1 64 bit
- no antivirus or firewall is blocking the client.exe
- client server installed, cleaned, installed many times as normal user (always logged as admin) / run as admin
- client.exe is with admin rights...

Basically, yes. First time you run it absolutely does. I've had game use up to 4GB RAM slowly chewing it up as it runs. Used to be like this previously too, just that it was confined to how many advs you played.
her on my pc i uses 0ver 1,5gig of memory but i also have 64 gig so no problem
but somtimes it takes 5 seconds to logon other times over a minute where cllient hangs
