BB, I have been playing TSO for more years than I care to mention. I know there have always been small bugs in the game but at least it was playable for 99% of the time. I cant understand how you think that the game on unity in its current state is acceptable.
I have never complained about the game in the past but as a paying customer I feel that the many hundreds of pound I have probably spent on the game over the year allows me to say that this version is totally unacceptable.

Please Please either sort it out or go back to the client (although from another post I see that Kumakun has said that this is not possible)

I'm sure if it remains in its current state that many many players will leave.

I have to agree with casperjohn. The game for me is almost unplayable. Considering that BB has had a lot of time to improve the game, it has failed dismally.
This may very well be the beginning of the end for Settlers Online, though I think that happened about 10 months ago when BB was ill prepared for the ending of Flash.

I am in the same situation and feeling exactly the same as casperjohn. I just cannot play the way it is. BB, please, you must realise that it is IMPOSSIBLE to play as it is. TSO is a GAME, it must be fun and user-friendly. This is clearly not the case. A solution must be found, I also spent money and been playing since April 2017, I am a Guild Leader, so I'm dedicated and I love TSO, but when you can't play you can't play. Players may be angry and sometimes disrespectful but only because they are in love (or addicted) to your game. You must find a way to sort things out and make TSO a pleasant experience as it has always been -- most of the time.

Well BB you have certainly outdone yourselves this time. The launch of Unity is the worst thing you have done to the game since I started playing in 2012. Map constantly refreshing and freezing. Blocky graphics, rubbish fonts. I haven't even bothered to try to do an adventure due to the number of complaints other players were making in chat.
I think it was BB Trafffer who said 'Wait and see, it's not the same' when asked about the live versus test versions of unity. Well if possible it's even worse than the test version. You were either being conservative with the truth or the technical department pulled the wool over your eyes and have made you look a fool.
My wife and I haven't spent money on this for a while and I must say I'm now glad we haven't. If the unity version of the game doesn't improve very quickly I think people will leave in droves. Any new people joining the game will put off quickly by the very very poor user interface. It's almost as if BB want to kill the game off. Maybe it's not the cash cow it used to be!

BB,,! we can gather the money u need to pay for Adobe if the problem is about their license problem.. just bring back the client till u BUiLD UP the game for Unity with CORRECT C# CODiNG !! this is not playable... not even close.. worst than test.. if u gonna close the game as what u did to Anno before, please just be honest and say... don't tortue 35+ years old human beings like this..

It's a total shame for a LEGEND GAME.. You're just betraying your own LEGACY. :(

As another player who has been with this game for years I have the same issues. It is unplayable.
Like many others who do put money into this game, this is just a step to far. The client was not perfect, but most of the time you could look around your island and do adventures. I cannot just do the basics with unity. We had hopped that having the test server would identify these issues and give you time to sort out these fundamental problems, but all that has not happened.

This current unity release locks, freezes, has so sloooow graphics and the worst UI revamp I have ever seen - it makes my eyes hurt trying to read the fuzzy fonts.
I am stopping playing the game now, but will keep my account open in the hope that someone actually listens to the players and in a few months actually delivers the complete overhaul that this release now needs. These are not "bug" fixes - these are fundamental platform issues.

It has been nice playing with you all and maybe we will meet in the future.

I cant even load my home island, by time it comes up I get a webgl memory error, and I'm not playing on a low spec computer Xeon 3253 @3.3 32gig ram and a Quadro RTX6000 so if i cant run it on this, who else can

Ok so I agree with everyone before me, I have been playing this game since it came out as a locked beta....yes it has always had little bugs but back then and even after the locked beta BB actually listened to us players and fixed what needed to be fixed in a timely manner. Now it appears that the game and the players are no longer a game and players. The game is a game to make money and the players supply said cash. Hence, now even though the client wasnt exactly great at least the game was a lot more playable than it is now.
I dont understand the logic (there isnt any) in treating us players in this manner. I swear, I will keep my account active, i will come in and do my island maintenance, I WILL NOT be buying gems and if BB go bust... well so be it. As players and a community in this game this treatment is unacceptable and the state of the game is so far from acceptable on all levels that its almost a joke.
Mean time I will be looking for another game, developed by a company that actually cares about their players. This is going to be another New settlers standalone game, "yes we will do this and we will do that and it will be done by whenever we can be bothered" and nothing ever happens. So between this and the new standalone game, I am over BB and their attitude.... its garbage.
I may or maynot return fully, but for anyone that is fed up with this keep your account active, do your island maintenance, dont buy gems and leave it at that. BB need to get their act together NOW not in 10 years time.

This is utterly disgusting, you have fixed none of the bugs from the test version.
In fact it's even worse as with more players on live, the lag has risen to unplayable proportions, and mail inbox is completely empty.
This is NOT fit for purpose BB, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

And then, when I tried it on 64 bit - with even transparency processed incorrectly!??? - there is one positive result for me - the certainty that Unity is not good for game design - demonstrated to the whole wolrd. Thanks a lot for this.

I can, but it is too slow, still has too many bugs, not worth wasting my time.

but the developers were asked not to hurry. let unity be tested on the test. but what I saw on the game servers is absolutely not a working version. I'm not even talking about uncorrected errors. it just doesn't work. I do not know what unity is doing, because all the computer resources are free.

Agree with all of the above comments.
I can now log into the game better than on the client server, however it is unplayable as the home land keeps refreshing and most of my buildings don't show, and the other things are not there, like deposits so cannot do any quests assoc with island. I don't know who is logged on within our guild, yes my bar turns blue but all the others stay green, and no login button appears above their names appears as before. I can only make one chat talk at a time, if I want to enter another or make a reply I have to log out then log in again each and every time.
The game is totally useless in this state, so please listen to people and do something about it

If the game has been closed and taken down, it would be only fair to replace the last announcement on "the succesful implementation" of the Unity Server to the live servers" on the webside.

i also have been playing the game for years and was unable to play on unity so was still using facebook .. i also bought gems on friday on the 100% package and it looks like my gems may have gone to another account and i have a conformation of payment and have no way of contacting BB... the ticket system does not work also the customer email system just bounce back saying unable to send...

The huge concern here is that the selling of gems given the clear issues with the unity version of the game, is at best open to claims for refund, UK fellow playets, review consumer credit act and sale of goods act, even on card transactions refunds can be arranged. At the very worst end, it can be described as fraud. I, for one will be seeking some significant refunds if this is not resolved quickly

What they hope is that we will simply learn to live with it as bad as it is, forgetting that many will just quit - after all there are a lot of other games out there where you just click to start and 10secs later are playing smoothly.

I fear many will give this rubbish a few weeks and then dwindle away, end of game. And if BB management are unaware of that then they are stupider than we ever thought.

If those of us still logging in are honest with ourselves we are now doing so out of habit with a vague hope they might make things better - but we now know they don't care less about the game and probably plan to let it die.

I actually expect the game to be fixed gradually, although it may take a lot longer then we want. Even within as bad a team as this one they will ultimately find it among themselves to learn how to code in Unity, read the textbooks and slowly get it working. Same thing happened with Farmerama, which has far more gamers friendly approach. It took them ages, but after more then half a year of tweaking it works nearly as good as Flash version. In the mean time reduced play is necessity. Why BB acts in such a stupid way is beyond my understanding, but we can't do anything about their lack of professionalism. After all the company I work for is cutting tree under their but being stupid in similar way, so that's probably some corporate pandemic - the top guys running the companies are often the most ignorant and incompetent unable to make sound decisions as all they see is money, and then it backfires one way or the other.

I only started playing a week ago, joined a lovely guild who got me off the ground, now im struggling to even load the game. Why would a company take such a huge step backwards? ive been looking on the forums and from what i can see, all the bugs I am experiencing have been reported in testing months ago.

With no chat and no mail working it's pointless playing! I can't make troops anyway. And I can't see how many troops I have of each. 2K? Is that 2900 or 2200? I know it's not exactly 2K. Can't make anything in PH either. And as a guild leader I can not follow who does GQ and not and who's active and not. What a disaster!? Have ppl at BB actually tried playing this game before launching this version? I'm going to miss my guild mates a lot :-(

I agree. Everything is now slowed to a snail's pace - actually slower, more like the pace of watching continental drift!

Loading takes ages, with a blank map appearing square by square, and slo-o-owly filling with trees and the rest.
Even once it's loaded, moving around means the other squares of the map slooowly appear.
Whatever I click responds in sloooow motion.
None of the resources show how much is left, so you can't fill them but have to wait until they've run out and search for another.
And when you've found a deposit, it doesn't show up and I only know it's there if I guess where it might be and click on it.
Trying to send explorers or geologists takes ages, and I have to click on things several times before it will respond - and then it often responds to something I didn't actually click at all.
There's no way to deal with all the mail at once, because although it says to choose the destination, there's no destination to choose!
Hovering over things to get information no longer works at all, for anything.
The book binder keeps showing that it's ready to collect for a long time after I've actually set a new one going.
I'm not prepared to even start an adventure - the main game is bad enough so heaven knows how desperately slow and abysmal an adventure might be.

I didn't really have any problems using the client for the past 6-7 months, but now I can't see me wasting much more time on this game.

I think that the best we can hope for at the moment is that the learning of tieing own shoelaces happens very quickly so that testing the game properly and ability to fix it i achieved very quickly

You asked for feedback so here is mine
The number of times I have to try to log in, sometimes 9 or 10, yet my hubby gets in first go.
I have 58 explorers and it takes well over an hour to send out and if I don't put the box over the sea, I get multiple boxes opening.
Have to change the resolution every time so I can see what I'm doing
Difficulties getting into quest book. Have to reload and often back to square 1.
Takes ages to get into mail and ages collecting as you can't do it en masse.
Not able to see what is in chat as it keeps refreshing
The page is forever becoming unresponsive
Can't see who is online
Can't see how many have done guild quest.
All in all the game is a pain and is virtually unplayable. Have been playing for years and have become disillusioned.

I've changed my browser for the game from chrome to firefox and at least I can get into game, but everything else just as awful. I now keep being told to close the page as it is slowing firefox down????????

Try Opera GX , it is , personal opinion , the most stable so far.

Wait until August, I was told, and the issues would be fixed. Well, it's August, and nothing has changed.
It's still slow to load, or to move across the island, or do anything.
It still requires from three to six clicks of the mouse before anything happens - and even then, half the time it randomly brings up something I hadn't clicked at all.
Still can't select a location in order to deal with multiple mails at once.
It says I have a new quest or completed a quest, but a lot of the time when I click the quests, it won't open the window at all.
I had a copper mine that produced bronze, which I'd paused. But somehow it un-paused itself and ran out, so I lost it.
I'm not even attempting anything like an adventure - the basic game is bad enough and I'm not going to get more frustrated trying to do anything else.
Basically, it's still unplayable.

Re reply from Trafffer, the trouble is that being as we can't send in reports as they won't work how do you know the full extent of the issues. On my isle, I can't access the quests as it won't open, can't load gens properly , can't buff either my isle of a friends isle, and the list goes on, so it needs sorting as I also agree with comment earlier re this comes under faults of the various trade descriptions acts as faulty goods, where some form of compensation should be given. This is one big mess up , and would have thought that you would and should have thought it out properly, you had long enough warnings that you had to change engines.

reality is, most complainer will not have spent any big amount of money on the game in the last 2 or 3 months Trying to get your "rights" through laws is iffy at best and completely pointless from a cost/benefit analysis as well as the question of jurisdiction.

They said they will look into compensating players once they are comfortable with the fixes. So you will need to wait to see if it is adequate or not- Compensation in the past has been a mixed bag, sometimes great and sometimes woefully inadequate

So you are upset- a fair chunk of the playerbase is, and they know it. Do not think they are doing what they can within the means they have to get something fixed.
Worry more that they dont have enough means in the project to fix it and the decision is made to can the whole thing due to technical difficulties

I've been playing this for 9 years now and spent quite a lot on gems, made it to level 72 but I can't see how I will get any further as my sanity is at breaking point. The game is so slow it's impossible to play. Not one of the chats are working and i've never seen trade with so few pages. Players are leaving because they are so frustrated with this rubbish. Please Please BB tell us there is hope on the horizon for this game.

Well, we had the update and basically nothing has changed.
Sending out explorers and geos does seem a tiny bit more stable, but still lags terribly, but as the messaging is still a disaster area (couldn't even reply to a single message, froze and crashed the game on each of 3 attempts), sending explorers out is pointless anyway.
This is still way below even "beta" standard, until you have something that is even remotely playable, please go back to the "last known good" position, ie the client version.
Please stop this torture.

Even after the update and fixes and suggestions to help like caches, animations etc its just too slow and full of bugs to be enjoyable to play as it was before. I am also in the 70s level and I have just stopped playing beyond a quick few minutes to keep things ticking over. Sadly i cant see that changing until they wake up and fix the game.

The "update" is a joke. I believe it was released as a sort of placebo update, but it is not working at all. Other than a slightly improvement in sending explos and geos, still having lags tho, everything is the same as on the day unity was released.
Playing a few minutes every day to keep economy going, but even those minutes are a torture.
Every day the desire to give up and detele everything goes stronger and stronger. At this point those minutes of "playing" the game daily are a total waste of time.

Please do something quick.

At the point they killed off the Flash version, there were still bugs unfixed from the launch of the game nearly 10 years ago. It feels like a massive backward step and I hope getting things fixed won't take another 9 years. I'm just logging on for daily rewards and easy guild quests atm. Civ VI just got a whole load more appealing again.

Hello folks.

We received reports from players that some of the major issues got better for them with an updated Java. The lag decreased, zone refreshed popups disappeared and no java/uncaught errors appeared during a normal game session. Therefore, we would like to advise you, to test this out for yourself.

Please install the latest Java Version from the official page: https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp (make sure to choose the correct version for your OS).

Note: We know the issue is connected to our system and are eagerly working on it. However, it is still important to keep your own system up to date, and Java doesn't seem to update itself for everyone.
