Hi!
I have logged into TSO today as usual. I did all buffs and when I was logging out , I remembered I forgot to send explorers out. So I clicked "login" button on main page of TSO again expecting to send the explorers I forgot about. However, it is not what I've got.
I got:

AW, SNAP!
Something went wrong while displaying this page.
Error code: SBOX_FATAL_MEMORY_EXCEEDED
"
I cleared all cache and cookies. It did not work.
I used the trick in Guides for faster loading time "--disk-cache-size=1000000000". Windows through at me some alert about administration, which I just clicked through, as it wasn't mentioned in the guide. It did not help either.
I tried to clear the Unity DB, but there in applications-indexedDB was no unity. was only /idbfs with timestamp inside.
I use Google Chrome. I do not understand what went wrong. I logged without issues at first. Now I get "AW, SNAP" time after time.

I think I fixed it somehow temporarily? I kept crashed "AW, SNAP!" web page untouched. I opened new tab. Loaded TSO main page and logged for a second time, while first login was still there crashed in other tab on my browser. TSO just loaded. I sent my explorers.
Anyone cares to explain what is going on there with my Google Chrome browser and TSO?

Hey sorry you got me I am no expert. However, I found https://forum.thesettlersonline.com/threads/38770-How-to-clear-Unity-Web-Cache?highlight=clear+cache useful. If you scroll down or jump to last post you will also see that the idbfs file IS Unity. I found the same using Brave Browser.
Hope this helps until an expert arrives :D

I logged in. No issues. TSO loaded just fine.
I logged off. Then I tried logging in. I got "AW, SNAP!" web page.
I tried today my work-around, by leaving the crashed window while trying to log in again. It does not work. I get only "AW, SNAP!" web page.
I pressed F12 and deleted /idbfs. On login I get "AW, SNAP!".
I hope an expert will arrive and cares to explain what is going on. Why I can not log in into TSO, directly after leaving it?
Why I get memory issue message? Why TSO is crashing?

Glad it's not just me. Laptop lost internet then when I rebooted I got the "aww snap" message. Have cleared all browsing data and cache. can get in for a few seconds before it boots me out again with aww snap!...

I found the devil causing the issue. McAfee web protection. It is a free application from McAfee on Windows. Now, I know WHY it is free. I uninstalled this application. Issue solved. I can relog now without restarting my Google Chrome.
Thanks Harlequin for the url. It helped me trace the issue and remove the cause.

Yeah, just reboot wont fix it. You need clear the Unity Database with F12 - application - indexDB - /idbfs (delete), close Google Chrome and literally reboot your entire computer. Unless you use the link Harlequin provided and trace the issue. It is something with virus protection.

BACK with the same error!
Someone applied PFB buff on my island and my game crashed. Now, I get repeatedly "sbox fatal memory exceeded" message on my Google Chrome. I can not even return the PFB buff to lone_wolfaka(I think).

After 10 minut of hard refreshes and computer reboots, I got to log in. No pfb detected. I swapped pfb with dragana. I still have no idea what happened for those 10 scary minutes.

I encountered the "aw, snap!" error again. I was upgrading 2 wonderous houses from level 1 to level 2. It takes only 1 minute. However game froze after that 1 minute. After refresh I've got "aw, snap!" error page in my Google Chrome browser.
I have noticed that when "aw snap!" error is on, picture of my avatar is way different from the one I've chosen.

I cleared cache and hard reloaded. It did not help.
I deleted Unity db. It did not help.
I logged in OK after 40 minutes passed. No matter what I did, nothing worked earlier. 40 minutes time out for upgrading a wonderous house for just 1 min. It maybe is something with Windows I am on. Still 40 minutes time off for 1 minute upgrading of a building. I have no idea what is causing this issue.
Also a note. The freeze happened when I was in trading window. Maybe that is somehow related to freezing game?
Now I cannot get back in the game getting the "aw, snap!" all the time, even changed browsers.

"Aw Snap!" hit me again!
I was switching the tabs in Trade Office window, when TSO froze. Reloading TSO refuses to load with correct avatar picture and after a while in game throws "Aw Snap!" window with option to reload the page.
12:50, when error hit.
Lets see when TSO decides to load proper picture of my avatar and stops after loading TSO to throw the "Aw Snap!" error-web page.
From my side I will not clean any cache in browser. I will not hard reload page while using F12 option. I will not clear Unity Database. I will not clear any cookies. I will not restart Google Chrome. I will not restart my computer. I will keep just refreshing TSO.
Let's see if TSO will load properly on its own after 40-60 minutes.

I checked F12 window. Application -> Reporting API. It gives following error message on "Aw Snap!": " {reason: "oom"} reason : "oom" ". Does it help?

13:38. The page finally loaded up, just fine on its own. I did nothing. I just hit refresh button on "Aw Snap!" error webpage from time to time.
Is this error caused by something with virus protection on my computer on Windows 10 or is it something on server side?
I have the same issue. I found that switching browser (chrome to firefox or vice versa) helps. If both out I have found that waiting around 15 min before trying again works most of the time. I am guessing game/account has to "reset" or something

I just froze TSO with fast double click in mail box instead of trading office. However upon noticing the freeze, I loaded asap TSO in another tab. The odd picture of my avatar switched after a short moment to my avatar's picture and TSO loaded just fine. You need to be fast at it, though. You wait too long and you need to wait the 40 mins timeout. Then I closed the frozen tab.

"Aw Snap!" strikes again!
What did I do? I accidentally clicked the side button on my mouse. It snapped TSO game in my browser Google Chrome to TSO login webpage. Annoying feature on mouse to have and no place in Windows 10 settings to turn it off. OK, so I reloaded the TSO to get back to game. I get again not my own avatar picture upon game being loaded up and then TSO changes automatically to "Aw Snap!" error web page with a button on it "reload".
Oh noes! The click was not intended. I just was moving mouse around, while looking for collies! Please BB, fix that 40 minutes timeout please.
I have just started to experience the same issue in Chrome as described by The_Sarmatian. As a workaround I'm using Firefox now...
Chrome sometimes freezes when game loading the island graphics. Often need to restart the Windows to fix it. No idea what's causing it. It comes and goes. Works fine most of the time.
Been having same problem for a while - last BB update?
Contacted Support when I first saw it and have heard nothing back, so kind of nice to see that I am not the only one with the issue.

Hope that fix also the irritating brown screen of death that has come several updates ago, heard some players got it when unity came.

"Aw snap!" hit again. All I did was clicking a trade in trade office window. Game froze. I hurried to load TSO in another tab, but probably was too late and got "Aw Snap!" with reload button on it. Mandatory 40 minutes timeout ahead. I have no idea if this is something with Windows 10 or TSO. Google Chrome looks innocent. I did not have this issue on Ubuntu. This could be very well a Windows 10 issue.

I never visited that island, when I was hit with "Aw Snap!" web page. Now, I have 40 minutes time out from playing TSO. Is it something with Windows 10? How can I fix it?

Really hoped we'd seen the back of that, wasted so much time the last time it happened trying to "fix" it, when the problem was at your end all along.

I was swapping 10 bouquets and 3 cards with airforceboy. Error page popped up every time I tried to visit his island to return buffs. So, I used Kebabtomte's suggestion of using FF instead of Chrome. It worked. Airforceboy's island loaded up. Success! Then after a while FF crashed. I used windows 10 task manager to check what is going on. It seems FF was using for my island 1.5 gb and when I visited airforceboy's island the use of ram went to 7.8gb. Enough for me to locate the flower farms and crash FF and then drop 1st buff and crash FF, and then drop 2nd buff and crash FF and drop 3rd buff and crash my FF again.
My win10 laptop has 16gb ram, so i do not see the issue causing those FF crashes. Maybe win10 is the issue? Surely on Ubuntu things were simpler for me. It could also be that maybe some graphics for buildings at lvl 80 are having issues?
Anyhow, all buffs got dropped! Success? Mh...

Sarm, was he running Concert Hall at the time? If you heard a short burst of music before it crashed, likely he was, and that seems to be a killer for Unity users.
Game froze up, then when managed to finally reopen browser game is freezing up as soon as island starts to load... tried different browsers - same issue. what have you broken again BB?

No, I didn't hear anything, as I turned all sounds off on my island many years ago. I didn't have time between crashes to notice what zone buffs he was using tbh. I use Concert Hall all the time on my island without any issue so far.

Try Kebabtomte's suggestion of using FF and other browsers. Also use resource monitor like task manager in windows to check how much mem it uses. When being logged in, before you get freeze, try canceling all visual cosmetics buffs, if you have any on. Turn sounds off, lower detail graphics, skip animations and so on. Keep it at minimum for now.

Nice first time with new issues using chrome "status_access_violation" does it need to use knife balacing coding for game to work with unity.

Got "Aw, Snap!" page on Google Chrome again. This time permanent 40 minutes time out. I was trying to swap few buffs with lvl 80 player again and got the time out. Switched to FF and no issue swapping buffs. So windows 10 is not the issue.
Issue is Unity client is not entirely compatible currently with Google Chrome browser.
Work around (found out by Kebabtomte) : Use Firefox or other browser for now.
Hi, Just got the aw snap msg in chrome, cleared unity cache, cleared chrome cache, restarted computer, still got aw snap.
Loaded new incognito window, allowed cookies but didn't allow facebook, logged in with ubisoft, game loaded and played ok incognito.
Brought up window with aw snap and refreshed, loaded ok, back to incognito window and session had timed out, closed incognito and still have original game running.
Could be a solution, to log into incognito and refresh original

I hit "Aw Snap!" page again. What I did? I bought some platinum ore for guild quest in Trade Office. I clicked the history tab in Trade Office for the history log of my past transaction and TSO froze. On refresh I had the "Aw Snap!" page, which means I can not finish Guild Quest for next 40 minutes.
The only work around, which I know works for me, is to use Firefox browser.
Chrome's cashing was a nightmare and is a nightmare. I use Google Chrome exclusively in incognito windows, even for TSO.
I just got aw snap again, I had just finished IotP, clicked the return home button and it took me to the website homepage instead of my island, so i clicked play and as it started to load, the memory usage went way to high and ended up giving me aw snap. I then tried to use incognito and it again gave me aw snap as the game was loading. Guess I will have to wait 40 mins, which is annoying as I have buffs due to expire and need to get them going again, and I don't fancy using firefox as I use that for other things :-(

Did you maybe run Concert Hall before this crash/issue?
Not sure but good chance I did. I'm experiencing it now and started concert hall about 20minutes ago

This is a known issue. The Concert Hall buff can crash your island, and also anyone who will try to visit you while the buff is active.

A work around is to launch Firefox browser. Log in. Cancel Concert Hall buff. No need to wait for 60 mins. It works for my Google Chrome like a charm, every time.
the return of aw snap. Past couple of days I have been playing mostly ok until around 7 hours of play then start to get the odd 'browser not responding' which tends to go away by itself, but past couple of days I have also got to about 10 hours of play, and the concert hall not running, and I get aw snap, try refresh and get aw snap, over and over, try to use opera instead of chrome, gets a little further but then get memory error. While in chrome, if I log out of the game before it fully loads up, i can get to the homepage and switch to the american server, where i have no loading problems, but then come back to euro server and problem with aw snap returns.
This is a known issue. The Concert Hall buff can crash your island, and also anyone who will try to visit you while the buff is active.

I don't have any schedule to share. The dev team is working on it and as soon as it is ready, we will publish it.
