Hi, connection errors are back on Sandycove, game takes forever to load, and when I finally get in I can't stay connected for more than 30 seconds until I get told to refresh.
Can this be solved more permanently please?

takes about 30 mins to connect to the game which takes me to the make an acc page, so click to say already have an acc, then takes another 10 to 15 mins to log in page. Another 10 mins to connect to account, Geez what the heck is going on. Not only that i cant load adv, then get booted off to only start that same procedure again. Its worse than getting a tooth pulled. and yes sandycove.

My Pumpkin farms need buffing for the night as well as everything else needs doing.

I'm sick of these connection issues, don't know why BB can't get it right.

Most of the event has been a massive headache and more hassle trying to stay connected and logged in than it's worth. I have no idea how they manage to keep any new players with the constant issues. If you want people to spend money on gems, you should give them a product worth doing so for.

A peace keeping force was called in to enforce martial law back by the militia, Sadly it ended as quickly as it began. The famine relief carts were halted at the border and a full media blackout is now in place. Any information now is intercepted or pure propaganda. We hope this situation will be rectified shortly but the end seems nowhere is sight, As we await a solution with baited breath only time will tell if this conflict will be resolved but history tends to repeat itself as lessons are not learnt. True madness is continuing the same actions expecting a different outcome....Oh matron is here with the med's......aaarrrgh again (incase you missed the first one) ;)

We're back, parity has been restored and the serfs are cutting trees again. A United Islands air drop from B52 balloons into border regions has staved off famine, calm is restored.

No doubt I'll be dragged into fun activities such as shopping, decorating or venturing down the park with afore mentioned offspring resulting in an afternoon of scraped knees and squabbles, snappy remarks and confrontations, sulking and huffing. Don't worry, we will be compensated with 10 irmas, 5 solid sandwiches and 400 coal refill.
Every Friday is the same problem.
But this time it is complete lock out, instead of 1 hour login.
Get it sorted, or just shut the game down, to save us the misery.

About 14 hr since hammerman visited and said connection issues.
The least BB could do is tell us, when it will be fixed (estimate).
Use you facebook page and forum to communicate that. Instead you only post new things, but nothing about all connections problems you are having.
Fix it.

I think it will be possible to access the game before event ends. I don't see how they will solve this issue in the weekend. Goodbye pumpkins :(

you forgot not before possible, yeah, from past experience weekend staff doesnt have such permissions that will allow them to sort things like those, and they will come to work monday @ about 9tish, so on end of event, we will see how they will react, I have some 30k pumps in limbo now, thats not counting whats in cemies unbuffed.

I fail to see why this issue remains unresolved, it's not as if it's just arose. A constant reoccurring factor is not being addressed! Why? Surely investing in some new additions would A) reduce complaints. B) make for a happier, peaceful existence and C) be just generally beneficial.

That's a valid argument and after some consideration, I agreed and said "look if it'll get you off my case, go and get these curtains and matching cushions. And then let that be the end if it" knowing next it'll be paint and wallpaper and floor covering. But at least it'll let me be disappointed in the state of play in peace and I can fume without interruption......Grrrrrrrrr!!! (Yes it IS a three exclamation irritation) :(

it is unforgivible what happens now again the complete game community is full of anger about this again crashdown ...for clear it was promised from BB after migration from server to the new home it will be all running smoothly are it expands to a new nightmare ...starfall was implant with a lot of bugs inside u loose a lot ressources and star shards and NO COMPENSATION for it thats rude ! now one downfall after the next and BB want implant the next nightmare what will not work proper ...the guild fest.....i think fix first the game to a point u can play it again with joy and fun before do the next thing inside what not working....then the costumer service is really awful i wait now months to solve a problem what was promised by support i have the email for evidence ................it is same rude to let the people wait and wait until a problem is fixed ...when BB want the the money from us to by gems in the happy hour session there run the game perfect .............now we can nearly 2 days not in the game when u then go back to your island u has to solve a lot of mess ....then the loose of ressis as u not can sent out the explorer ...crashed mines ...the weekly quests what u not can finish ....the guild quest ...the dayly log in is mess up ..................................i think this time has the compensation in a way that hurts a little bit to make the job next time better .....48 000 gems minimum !!! when i do my job in real life like here the people do i get fired !!

Nothings going to happen until Monday at the earliest. Why? Because there is no consequence for them. Yes we can state our grievances and complain until we're blue in the face, it just falls on deaf ears. They know that no matter how they treat us, ignore us or frustrate us, we will still be here in the long run. Maybe it is an unworthy loyalty we show but honesty how many will call it a day and leave...not many. Afterall it is free service, so they probably wonder why we get so frustrated, but should they want it to carry on being successful (profitable) and grow their client base without losing the currant one, they must improve in reliability, communication and trust. I am irritated at myself for the amount of time, effort and at sometimes money I have invested playing the game but like a mistreated puppy I remain faithful just to be disappointed repeatedly. In it's present state, I feel the game is slowly passing away rather than growing. When it finally reaches it's demise, and only then, maybe they will think that they did too little, too late. The signs are there, a dwindling player amount, an unhappy client base, repeated failures, fewer Gems being purchased (that's the bit that stings them a little). It is such a shame as the game promises so much, but at the moment, fails to deliver. So come the eventual up and running state, I will accept the so called compensation (it's virtual after all, and costs them nothing) and continue with a smile until the inevitable happens again and I'm back being frustrated, irritated and wondering why i did it all again.....again. Rinse and repeat. But you gotta laugh or you'll cry :) So keep it real, exhaust all your patience, and carry on as best you can. Tomorrow is another day and just like little Annie sings "it's only a day way". Having said that, she also sings "It's a hard knocks life for us" :) :) :)

This has been asked for many a time over the last few years - but BB is like some supernatural being, they hear you but that doesnt mean they will act - alas

Also, the deafening silence and sparse use of compensation has come in after they had issues all the time

I think since unity they changed servers and datacenters at least twice- or at least used it as an excuse ....

We've been putting up with this sh1t for 2(?) years, ever since Flash ended.
BB were totally unprepared for that and ever since have been bodging it.
It will never change until they rewrite the game into a reliable programming language and use reliable servers, just like other games have done.
It would seem they don't have the staff or level of interest to do anything about it.
I keep asking myself why I continue to play, but hte fact is, it's a great and addictive game concept, they trouble is, there is no competant suppot team.
So the only option for a great many players is to wait until Monday, and someone turns up to switch it off and on again, now a regular weekend experience.

That has nothing to do with it - If you haven't noticed yet, they do not work weekends so if an auto reboot script doesn;t kick in, the server stays down till monday around now-ish when the first person comes in and hits the server reboot button, next to the coffee machine :P

BB be clear about your intention!!
Make a statement if you don't want to continue with TSO.

Otherwise, please make sure we can keep connecting in the weekend. You see that there are issues in the last couple of weekends. So there are no excuses why this weekend it was such an problem.

This weekend i was not able to do anything with about 70K of pumpkins.
Also starfall run out of time which costs me a lot of XP and lost goods.

Make your intentions clear on TSO!

I am writing to express my deep frustration and disappointment regarding the unacceptable downtime of the game during the Halloween event, which is one of the most significant periods for players in The Settlers Online.

Since Friday evening, the game has been entirely inaccessible for me and a big part of my guild. Despite multiple attempts, logging in has been impossible, leaving players completely locked out during a critical time. The event shop, which allows players to redeem the event currency (in this case, pumpkins), closed at 9:00 AM today, and all our hard-earned pumpkins are now wasted. This represents a huge loss, not only in terms of time and effort but also financially for those of us who have invested real money to enhance our gameplay during events.

To make matters worse, there has been zero communication from the development team since the issues began on Friday. No updates on the website, no announcements on social media, no emails – nothing. We are left in the dark. This lack of transparency and communication is deeply troubling and unacceptable for a game that relies on its community and monetization through real-money transactions.

Additionally, while I submitted a support ticket, I understand that it was the weekend, and thus no action was taken. However, this only highlights the need for a system to manage weekend issues, especially considering the recurring nature of such outages.

There should be a fair compensation: A significant compensation package should be provided to affected players, covering the lost pumpkins, time-sensitive rewards, and other items impacted by the outage.

Transparent communication: Inform players immediately when such problems occur and provide regular updates until they are resolved. Silence only exacerbates player frustration and damages trust.

Extension of event and shop access: Reopen the Halloween event shop for a reasonable period to allow players to spend their pumpkins.

As paying customers, we expect the game to be functional, especially during major events. This level of downtime, coupled with the lack of communication, is unacceptable. I urge you to address these issues immediately and provide a detailed response on how you plan to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

Sandycove server is down, same as last time, wont be up till they reboot, and it will be happening till they find and sort out bug (at least in Hallo code version, there it is worst, started already last year hallo). But instead of sorting this things out, they try to make you blind with new content.

So, I don't often post, I do occasionally pop-up in chat .. but rarely, I'm one of the lurker types -- I'm even a bit overly lurker-ish within guild -- so I doubt my views will ever carry much weight or importance, I'm effectively an 'unknown', but I am one of those who financially 'support' the game. or I was.

this game for me is a distraction from 'life', I play it for fun, a get away, some enjoyment. I work incredibly long hours, in exchange for that I earn good money. with every game I've ever played, i've been willing to trade some of what I've earned, for a bit of a boost in the game (work hard, reward myself essentially)

In the 2+ years or so i've played the game I've probably spent into 4 digits on gem refills, usually to buy packs during events to 'boost' because I haven't had the time, so i've made-up.

This event will now be the 2nd event where I've actually stepped back a little in work (hours making me sick, health is important, less hours, more relaxation), both times I've ended up with massive issues during the event -- these only cause stress and frustration.

This event specifically, I've lost 1000's of pumpkins because of issues with login, I lost 1000's alone today because of the last 3 days - and thats not including whatever was produced in my most-likely unubuffed farms for the last 3 days.

I've also had to get up at 3am (my choice admittedly) to try to kill a golem in the middle of the night because of the number of times my kill rotation on it was thrown out by game outages.

As I said before, a game for me is a release, it's fun, it's somewhere to get away from stress... currently this game is the exact opposite of that. I'm left with the situation now when I get to login again, to decide if I wan to spend gems to upgrade wonderous residences simply because I didn't get to spend the 7500 pumpkins I have(had) on that upgrade -- I simply hadn't done it yet, because I had days left (or so I thought).. and honestly if I do decide to spend the (probably) 20k gems or so i've currently got on my account, which I suspect would be needed to 'fix' a total failure on the part of Bluebyte to really care in any way about the users or this game, then It's certainly going to be the last gems that grace my account.

I really would love to hear from a member of the community support team, why I should spend the equivilent of what, £100 or so of my own money, because of the incompetence of bluebyte as a company in 'fixing' issues with a game that have been going on now for over a year and just get worse and worse and worse.

Admittedly, I don't need to spend those gems --- but I also very certainly don't need to buy any more, and will never again spend in this game, until bluebyte starts to take customer experience seriously - because it just seems currently, like we as customers (paying or not) are a joke.

In truly bad form, I'll follow up from my own post.

I've read back a little and a few things stick out:
on Sandycove I think there are maybe 5-6 truly active guilds (in that I mean close to 100 members), I'd honestly guess at 3-4. there are similarly lets say... 10 moderately large guilds (20 members or so), which leads me to suspect there are maybe 500-750 or so active players on Sandycove (people who login a few times a week);

My comment is page 10. there are 97 comments before me... some will be back and forth between people, so lets be conservative and guess at .. 40-50 people complaining about downtime.

if my guess at 500-750 players is accurate, and if the 40-50 people complaining in forum is also active (and I know a LOT of my guild is unhappy, and thats easily 30-40 people alone), easily 20-25% of the userbase of Sandycove is a bit angry at BB currently. this is not a good way to manage your userbase. I honestly suspect I've under-counted users, over-counted forum posters ... but I've also not included all the people who are angry and just posting in guild discord(s) so I feel my 25% is probably low if I had to go on a hunch.

The other thing that stands out, is the number of people with join dates of 2024 -- effectively new users -- who are unhappy... these are players who are less invested, and more likely to just say 'oh well next game' ...

If I were running a business (and this is a BUSINESS for them), and even JUST 10% of my customers were so angry their posting about it, i'd be very, very, very concerned.. so why isn't Bluebyte/Ubi?

Many of us have lost thousands of Pumpkins and are missing out on Prem, PFB, Daily rewards, Weekly gems and the enjoyment of chatting with guild members.

100 gems and a few free buffs is not going to cut it this time.

Our losses are huge again.

I think BB need to scrap new content and fix the game first.

I can't help wonder if this could be part of a bigger plan to slowly loose players and shut down the game, because many people are sick and tired of wasting their weekends trying unsuccessfully to try log into a game that they have spent good money on.

I have been playing for over 11 years now and this is disgraceful.

This has happened over and over again on Friday evenings and ruins events.

The lack of information/updates is inexcusable.

I could not encourage anyone to play this game as I would be embarrassed with the state it is in.

If you were to notice last decent content patch was released somewhere around 2017, and since then they only really put enough effort into the game to copy paste existing events and add an amount of ingame assets worth a couple hours of work of one person every couple of months you'd figure out why.

Theres few people that put in larger sums into this game, and scores of people who pay absolutely nothing, because the business model of this game is to try to sell you everything, while you can get all of that for free if you're patient enough, and you dont even have to be logged in to do that. This game is a financial failure literally for the last decade (which is when they figured out its a good idea to give people a ton of premium currency for essentially free with the release of gem pits), and hence doesnt justify putting in any money to develop it, which clearly shows for anyone who has some development experience.

A cherry on the cake is you have no response regarding the problems most likely because the CM is gone or on vacation and theres noone working on the project to care to even read the forums.

1/3 of our guild has been locked out, so it is about 30 people already. I think there are many more in this situation than 50 across Sandycove, Harry. 50 are only complaining but it's safe to say, the majority won't even bother to waste their time on sending their complaints.

Anyway, I personally lost 25k ready pumpkins and those which I could have farmed from Friday evening until Monday morning, thus a total of about 30k. Pitty, coz they would have helped lower levels.

I'm sorry to say, but the technical quality of the game (the issue going on for years) does not give the best picture of the resources put by BB into this. They drive people away from this lovely game meaning, it will have to be shut down at some point if this continues.

The game as it is now is an insult to the renowned German quality. Shame on you, BB.

Please consider turning pumpkins in to tokens and have a token shop so we can get hold of event items even though the event is finished. Alternatively turn them in to presents. Converting them to 1gc each is an insult.

It is. It also doesn't take into account that pumpkin farm buffs ended and no new ones were able to be placed. They also would have timed out and stopped producing completely, leaving people with excess refills, never to be realized.

The one thing BB CAN do is change the start and stop dates of the events to be mid-week. Had the event ended on a weekday, the BB staff would have been at work and able to extend it without it ending, correcting the issues to make sure people got what they worked for.

The company cannot keep making excuses that are not legitimate.

Alex, lol, I dont remember exact Nr or if some trades were executed, but was playing on TO with some 30-50k, so 5k compo, maybe for lvl 50 under. ;)

But Monday workday is gone, and not even acknowledgement of problem, doubt folks will be happy. A lot of unhappy players, some nonreturning. You know, some collect pumps over event and except explorers, do the shopping last day, based on what they got. So 30-50k might be even medium loss.

Someone is able to get in the game? All what I got is cannot connect to server on start, since Friday, not even one single success.

Edit: if some can, is even worse, coz its mean its not server down, but their infrastructure is total rubbish.

Edit2: I`m in now, fields still have pumps in them, should been depleted on Sunday evening, total mess.

As guild leader a lot of members sent me their pumpkins so I could send them to lower level players, many of whom were looking forward to getting their first Ghosts and some decent explorers. I managed to start sending some out on friday before I lost connection and couldn't get back in again.
That accumulation of pumpkins is lost. Around 70-80k!!
How the hell can you compensate for that? Most of our lower level players will be disappointed... why would they stick around?

BB not the most fluent in instant communication unless it concern's a German server who has a rep who's vocal in the forums.

Often than not no amount of compo can make up for 3 days of lost production, worse in an event as that resource is not used & then lost.

Had a few prob's during event like the homepage not loading up for a couple hrs but nothing like this.

As you all know, this didn't just suddenly happen. What surprises me is that you did not think for a moment to check whether any issues arise during the weekend and certainly during the end of Haloween, where everyone wants to spend their pumpkins.And if someone's frustrations turn out a little wrong, you feel bad. What we missed today was a BB on world chat, not a word, no email, nothing, just leave all those settlers in the dark. Sorry, but that brings bad blood. Be kind and come up with a nice gesture for the affected players and make no difference to the German servers. Here too there are players who play in both worlds. I hope this is nicely worded. So all gaining of pumpkins, slogging away for hours, buffing cemeteries etc is for nought! Confidence in BB is dwindling at an amazing rate, frustrations and blood pressures at an all time high. Riots in the streets, real fire and brimstone, the four riders of the apocalypse are saddled up, citizens buying munitions on black Friday events (at least they got extended), Mayor's pawning off the chains of office, Marshalls going on vacation, Generals plotting a coo, soldiers AWOL, famine rife across the realms. Mines closed, rising unemployment, the return of prohibition and racketeering to our streets. Yet still you have trouble understanding our lack of faith and request for some acknowledgement and genuine consideration for our plight, "THE END OF THE WORLD IS NIGH"! Okay, maybe a little over dramatic :) :) . but I believe the general consensus is we're a tad miffed at the moment.

Just seen Saqui's post above, the situation has NOT been "resolved", Sandycove is still being run by the Hammerman and booting us out regularly, that's if we are even allowed to login in the 1st place.
The German servers that were crashing like here several months ago got fixed, even at weekends, but Sandycove just got kicked into touch, and we've been suffering ever since. There'd be a lot more posts if the forum would let us in, instead we have to post via the other UK servers, Fakebook, or the German forums just to make ourselves heard.

If u read the german language message that was posted on the german forums (see above), you will see that the only difference in treatment is a post after the fact- They have not been informed or had any planning advantage as u suggest there ...


There is no selective "punishment" for these servers, it is very unselective problems for all- At best, german developers or community manager posts on those servers a bit more often than here (after which it gets cross posted if relevant by some player anyway)

Maintenance has been done and dusted more than 3 hours ago- This is the usual server is here, server isn;t login issue which seems to be ignored by BB - at least they don;t talk about it and pretend it isnt happening

This is farcical, we get a surprise maintenance this morning with the announcement appearing an hour after the servers were taken down, and this evening looks like maint is still going on with the familiar "Connection Failed" hammer and spade logo. :(
Managed to get onto German server earlier, and had to pay gems to revive the missed event calendar, how many days are we going to miss here?
This is the 3rd event in a row now that's been wrecked by this incompetence and you don't seem to care a jot about the game or your loyal customers.

I think most of us have problems- some just worse than others. I cant stay online for more than 20- 30 mins - or I get auto reload starring into a black screen with a white logo- even though I did not refresh. Or I just get a " an error have occurred message, I am cut off - and unable to login right after- If I try - I get that pale green page that is never fully loaded - saying "der siedler" and announcing that a maint is going on. Some mornings I only get to that pale green page, and it takes hours to get in to the game. These problems have been reported many times - but it does not seem to get any attention what so ever from BB. Maybe these are simply a feature of the game.

Then there is the mail/message problem. If you get new messages in mail box- some get stuck - if you open loot - the messages remain in mail box. Only some messages if someone buffs you arrive in mail - others come - sometimes hours later - often followed by a - time out of "an error have occurred message. And no - I did not write a message to support, I don't believe support actually exists - they do reply - but never solves anything. And no - it is not just me - must people I have talked to online have same problems.
