Maybe they had no idea that they were doing it before that, might be a last minute decision :-D
Well my guess is they have known for ages and that it is the xmas event being made ready, and yes I would have loved to know in advance, then I would have made the time to logon earlier, before going to work.
Please BB - please give people notice about down time.

U got till tomorrow morning when there will be yet another maintenance that will deactivate the Guild Fest.

This update will include the technical implementation of this year's Xmas Event, as well as fully deactivating the Guild Fest Event.
