Accelerating problem

I putted an accelerator on a 2 Savage Scouts. Then I logged out for an hour or 2. When I logged in again, the time for returning the scouts went back to the old time, so there was no acceleration time saved.
Is this a bug, or is it normal that the accelerator is only working during the time that one is logged in? If it's only working during the time that one is logged in, why not putting a warning for this in the message box?

This happened to me also:
I used 30 gems to halve the time my explorer took to find quick treasure. The time dropped from 3.5h to 1hr 45mins and i logged out. When i logged in again about 15mins later, the time was back to 3.25h but my gems had still been used!
Can i please have the 30gems back as its a fault in the beta?
