I noticed that if your storage is full for a certain resource your work yards still keep working. Will they still use/waste resources if I don’t stop them manually or create more storage space?

I noticed that if your storage is full for a certain resource your work yards still keep working. Will they still use/waste resources if I don’t stop them manually or create more storage space?
They play the animations, but if you click on the building and watch the progress bar, you will see yhat it has stopped.
Full storage, hm....... Those were the days.....:p
