[Dev Update 2] Next steps

Dear Settlers!

A quick update on what we've been doing to improve the game experience.

Database improvements

Some database optimizations (that should increase performance) are now in place. More data can be handled now. This is a first step to fight delays when there is high activity, further improvements will follow though.

Additional web server infrastructure

Some direct improvements by extended capacities will be in place approx. next week.
We also ordered further servers that should be in place approx. in December.
Besides the capacity extension, some architecture modifications have been in progress.
In total this should solve the bottle neck situation of our web servers during peak times.

Next version

The upcoming version will improve some issues related to locked zones, client slowdowns and client freezes. Be aware that not all freeze related issues or all locked zone problems will be fixed due to the fact that a locked zone is a security process that can occur that requires further investigation.

Maintenance durations

Due to the increased number of game worlds some of our latest maintenances were extended.
We don't want to make you wait. Therefore we've been working on a solution to improve the situation and to reduce downtimes. - You will get an update soon.

"Bounty Hunter" issues

Some users are not able to finish a mandatory task and are stuck with the level progress, this is due to the fact that they did not receive the "Bounty Hunter" adventure which is needed. A fix is still in development, but as promised last week, we can provide you with a quick solution right now:

Dear Settlers,

We have added several machines yesterday and added a few webservers today, this should drastically improve performance and prevent massive game freezes.
This is one of the first steps we promised.
Bear in mind that there are still a few steps to take, our maintenance next week will improve server optimization.
