Ending the Christmas event without a warning? Seriously?

Now we have been forced to endure a lot of complete crap during the last year. Now it's starting to get plain silly. How on earth can BB just end an event without any warning what so ever? I checked yesterday and found nothing. I asked in the help chat and a mod said that they knew nothing and hopefully would know more in the morning. Then a surprise maintenance appeared and gone was the Christmas event. Now I feel like quite the fool for trying to get another Deerstalker out of this event. So how about BB do something right for a change and send me the last presents I need on January the 7th? Deal?
