[Dev Diary] Voting, free gems and more
Dear Settlers,
We have a new dev diary for you! All these updates will be implemented in the near future.
As you know, we have implemented a new Voting System! You will finally choose which item will end up in the Guild Market. The entire world wide TSO community will get to vote.
Voting facts- Start: Friday, 31st of May, ~16:00 GMT + 1 (BST)
- End: Sunday, 09th of June, ~22:00 GMT + 1 (BST)
- Who?: All players from all versions are allowed to vote once only.
- Where?: Use the website login. After some time a pop-up will show up on our community/news site.
A click on the picture will redirect you to the survey.
- How?: In the survey you can easily select your favorite item (one of five) and submit your vote.
- Item: The votings of all language versions (instances) will be summed up. 1 player = 1 vote. The item with most votes wins.
- Results: Vote results will be presented approx. in calendar week 25 (June 17 - June 23).
There are a couple of reasons why the results are not presented instantly after the survey ends. The extended time is needed to make sure there will be no double votes or cheat attempts (multiaccounts). We will then need to sum up the votes from all instances and discuss with the development team when the changes will be live.
Two following items from the current Guild market will stay:

Effect: It makes the output 3 times higher, the boost lasts 8 hours.

All other items will be exchanged to:

Type: Buff
Effect: Can be activated only on weaponsmith buildings, makes the output 3 times higher, boost lasts 16 hours.
Price: 615 Guild Coins
Name: Chimneysweep's Bag
Type: Deposit refill
Effect: Refills a Coal mine (deposit) with 1000 units.
Price: 200 Guild Coins
Name: The final match
Type: Adventure
Description: Very special adventure from our former soccer ingame event.
Price: 3000 Guild Coins

Description: It is up to the world wide community to choose this item.

During the voting phase, each player will be able to select one item from the list of five.
A brief summary of possible choices can be found below.

Description: Well that contains 1500 units of water - the production is 2x faster than a normal well.

Type: Building
Description: Special field which contains 1500 units of wheat.

Name: Jolly Geologist (max 1)*
Type: Specialist
Description: Experienced geologist that is 2x faster than a standard one.
Price: 4000 Guild Coins
Name: Standard Drill Plan
Type: Buff
Description: It halves the recruitment time in Barracks, the boost lasts 6 hours.
Price: 300 Guild Coins
Name: Silo (max 1)*
Type: Building
Description: Special building that re-fills the wheat fields over time.
Price: 1500 Guild Coins
* Important
Two items are limited to 1 purchase in the Guild market per player.
It doesn't matter if you already bought a Jolly Geologist or Silo in the past,
every player will be able to get one item in exchange for Guild Coins.
We are happy to inform you that the first part of the Science System (full production chains and geologist's skill tree) will 
be added to the game on June 13th. To find out more about the Science System please have a look at our developer's diary here.
With the introduction of the Science System, we want to boost your skill point production with some "Bookbinder glue".
This special buff increases the production speed of the Bookbinder workyard to 200% for 24 hours!
How to get 3 buffs of this kind? Be active!
Just be active on our normal live server and play the game at least once between Monday, 27th of May and Monday, 10th of June.
All players who will meet the requirement will receive the reward (3x "Bookbinding glue" buff)
on Friday, 14th of June via in-game message.
As you know, the Science System update will take place very soon. Not only will this update introduce brand new buildings but also new production chains, several tutorial tasks and the possibility to create successful geologists. Do not forget that the new free gem system will be implemented as well. The changes mentioned below will take place on June 13th.
- More free gems: Increase of daily Login Bonus
When you login to the game, you generally receive a daily login bonus. If you login 7 days in a row, you are rewarded with free gems. Currently you can get 45 free gems every week - After this update, you will receive 100 gems when you log in 7 days in a row.
- More free gems: Reaching next levels
Completing quests and adventures grants you experience points, this XP makes you level up! . Level-Ups are connected to rewards such as gems. The amount of free gems will increase as well.
- More free gems: Level-up gems refund
Many players already received some level-up rewards. It would not be fair to increase the amount of free gems just for new players and ignore players who already did so. Because we have now adjusted the amount of free gems we will be ensuring all players receive the difference to ensure fairness to all
Important details:- The gem packages will be sent via an ingame message during the game update on [June 13th]
- Players who played at least 30 days before the update are included into the a gem package calculations.
This means you must log in by June 12th in order qualify to receive these extra gems. Players whose last login was before May 14th will not receive the refund.
This is the reason why we're telling you in advance. You may also want to notify friends who are currently inactive.
- The amount of gems depends on the current player level, because the level-ups in the future will be rewarded with higher amounts. As a result, the amount of free gems for leveling up will be the same for everybody. If you receive a bit fewer gems (refund) than your high level friends, don't worry. Just keep playing and enjoy the game: the overall amount of gems you get for leveling up will be the same for all players.
