Hidden Stone Stash, Mining Surplus - bugged or WAI?

The Hidden Stone Stash skill is giving found treasure only when an actualy deposit is found.

I wonder about the Mining Surplus skills; I'm not that far ahead but I imagine they will work the same.

Now if we could send Geologists all day long to get resources, even when all deposits are found, I can see the issue. This was how it worked on the Test server.

But if the skills work only when an actual Deposit is found, the quantities, with the % to actually find anything, are too low.

These skills will be really weak as they are, compared to other passive skills like the ones that increase the Deposit size or the Quality Shafts that improve the mining time.

Speaking of which, there is another thread about people always finding quality shafts too :)

So what is Working As Intended or not? Can we get some sort of official confirmation?
