Travel times. Is there a reason for it?

Not moaning, just wondering if there is a reason why it take 15/30 minutes for an army to get to an adventure.

A sense of realism maybe.. Also paves the way for BB to make money by selling items that make it quicker. Like a general that holds more troops or does it in half the time.
