Halloween 2013: More information about upcoming event - Halloween 2013.
That spooky period in The Settlers Online world will start again very soon: you guessed it, the Halloween event is coming closer and closer!
The event will be activated in October and will introduce not only many features from previous years, but also new content.
More precise dates (start and removal phases) will be published in the near future.
The Halloween event will be implemented on the international test server (http://tsotesting.com) on 12th of September 2013.
Please keep in mind that the final version of the event may differ from the one presented on the test server.
During the Halloween event, several possibilities to acquire event resource - Pumpkins - will be added to the game. The event resource can be traded and is displayed in the "Event" tab in storehouses like all other resources. As all event resources, Pumpkins can be used in a special Merchant category which will be available in the game for a limited time (from the start of the event until the second removal phase).
The special Merchant category will feature well known items from previous years and also new content like the Improved Storehouse!

During the Halloween event this year, players of each game world will try to defeat a common boss together in order to receive rewards. The boss will appear at the lake at the center of each player's home island. Game worlds will not compete with each other and each game world has its own goal to achieve.
During the Halloween event players will be able to acquire items that fit the atmosphere.

Pumpkin Field
This field produces Pumpkins as a resource over time. Every player can purchase only a certain amount of these fields in the Merchant.
This object can be buffed, hence this is a perfect way to get even more Pumpkins! Keep in mind that if your friend buffs you,
the buff will last much longer!

The Village School
The Village School speeds up the process of getting new settlers in your village.
This year each player will be able to purchase 3 buildings of this type.
It doesn't matter if you already acquired a building like this in the past or not.

This building replenishes wheat fields over time. More wheat will be replenished when upgraded.
This year each player will be able to purchase 3 buildings of this type.

A new Storehouse that provides 3x more space for resources than a standard one.
This year each player will be able to purchase 3 buildings of this type.

This is a specialist with the same values as the Battle Hardened General, but the appearance is different (avatar).
This year each player will be able to purchase 1 specialist of this type.
It doesn't matter if you already acquired a specialist like this in the past or not.

Eliot, the Pumpkin Master
The Halloween event without Eliot, the Pumpkin Master? No way!
During the in-game event, he will assign you several quests.
Pumpkins on the home island?
Halloween is a special period of the year: Pumpkins will start to grow on your home island!
If you manage to spot a Pumpkin in your settlement, just click on it! Perhaps it will provide you additional Pumpkins (event resource).
Zombies on the home island?!
During the Halloween event, all animals will hide in forests and bushes. Instead of them, you will be able to spot a lot of zombies lurching around on your home island! But don't worry, Eliot, the Pumpkin Master, is responsible for them: He promised that they won’t destroy anything!
Halloween background music
During the Halloween event, the in-game background music will be switched to different tracks.
Modification of several graphics
Several graphics will be modified, for example the logo and the loading screen.
