Troops
Why if the game is supposed to be set around the European middle ages do we have meleƩ units equipped with Bronze swords, that were obsolete in the Roman era, at that time meleƩ united would of been using pikes and staves, and had steel swords, iron having been superceded by stell hundreds of years earlier.
Cavalry is only given the trample effect, they also carried swords and would hack at the enemy as well as carrying lances ?
Then I must ask why are longbowmen dressed like a Cavalier ? the longbow was extinct as soon ad gunpowder and muskets came on the scene, and to give longbowmen such a poor attack score is pitiful, when they virtually won every battle for the English against the French.
I know this is "only a game" but even so, surely some historical correctness must pervade.

OK, let's take out all the mythological things too, no witches or magical Priests for example.
A little poetic licence to help make the game more fun, and give a progression from basic weapons to more advanced is fine by me.
Plenty of historically accurate simulators abound already.

If you get into all that, you might as well ask why a culture that has developed methods for extracting titanium (a 20th century technology) cannot rip out tree stumps to increase land availability.

Not to mention the Easter Bunny ...
