[Dev Diary] Christmas event - First information
Dear Settlers!
This short dev diary provides a brief summery and first impressions about what's coming up. A first preview version of the Christmas event 2013 will go live on the public test server on Tuesday, November the 12th.
Since the test server version will only be a technical preview, all prices, numbers and limitations are not final - the balancing might differ in the final version. A complete dev's diary will be published once the event was finalized.
Event start: 12th of December 2013.
Event end: 09th of January 2014.
During the Christmas event, you will have the possibility to gain a special event resource: Presents.
Presents (Event resource)
The presents are displayed in the store house (event tab).
They can be traded and gifted. In case you have presents from last year you can use the items this year as well.
As usually, there will be many possibilities to collect presents:
- Event calendar: A new calendar will be introduced with this year's Christmas event
- Adventures: 2 Special adventures with presents as rewards can be played
- Collections: Special collectible items will spawn on the island that can be transformed into presents
- Daily quests: Special Christmas quests providing additional presents as a reward
- Event quest chain: Special Christmas quest chain which will guide through the event
- Explorer: Certain chance on each treasure search to find presents in addition to the normal search rewards
- Shop: Presents can be bought in the shop. There will be 2 packages
Event calendar? Yes! Besides some other new buffs and items, this is one of the new features within the Christmas event 2013.
There will be several new things introduced with the Christmas event 2013.
A short summery:
- Event "Advent calendar" with daily doors to open
- Provision house II with new buffs to produce
- Adventure: "Save the Christmas feast II"
- Re-worked adventures "More Experience" and "Occupied nest"
- Buff for the village school
- Re-adjusted "Arctic iron mine"
- Collectible Christmas items & collection for presents

The first test version of the upcoming Christmas event will be deployed most likely on Tuesday the 12th of November.
