Combat Summary Reports (email)
Hi BB,
The current animated battle reports are very useful when starting the game to learn about the different types of initiatives, but once a player has learned about iniative they are really just worried about efficiencies. The animated reports take too long to get to the raw numbers and so now i spend far more time deleting them than i do reading them.
I would suggest a text-only report type email perhaps with a number of configurable summary levels depending on a user's preference;
a) One report per fight - Summary
(indicates total troops by type commited to start of fight for both settler and enemy), indicates losses for both sides by type
b) One report per fight - Detail
includes final summary details as per item a) at beginning of email but also then goes into a round by round breakdown of troop losses by type
c) One report by adventure - Me Only
Summarizes troop landings to adventure zone
Summarizes total troops (by type) commited across all fights adventure
Summarizes total troop losses (by type) for all fights in the adventure
d) One report by adventure - All players
Like item c) but provides details for all players that contributed to an adventure.
Items C & D may mean a reduction in messaging load on your server infrastructure and possibly also your backup and storage requirements. Obviously the primary benefit is if Options C & D were deemed useful by the players. The other minor cost savigs and reduction in scalbility requirements are a modest benefit to BB as well.
