kickoff practice match

I have a question, wasn't sure where to post, and I can't find any directions for World Cup Summer Event. I went in to play the practice game and had to make all these buffs. Most of them needed 1 buff and a midfielder in the front needed 2. I didn't realize that , so had to go out and make another buff, but........I didn't have enough collectibles to make another buff had to wait for my collectibles to reset.....was about 8 hrs. So, found the collectibles........made the buff.......went back to the practice game and...........the midfielder is gone , and theres 3!!!!! more players to remove , needing buffs I don't have. Is this suppose to happen??
