Sent a bunch of my guys out on the short treasure search for the xmas quest chain. I would expect them to return with either 1 res or 1 res + presents. A majority returned with 2x res. Only the fact that a lucky returned with 2x res + presents enabled me to complete that quest. Based on this I would expect 0 presents returned from short searches for the entire event unless you happen to own Lucky's.
Sent 3 lucky explorers on short treasure hunts, had to sent them 3 times before one came back with presents...no so lucky after all. My normal explorers on extra long searches sometimes come back with almost no presents, and then the next time they all have presents, so no clear idea how that works ;)

25 searches total:
4x 5 presents (not lucky explorers)
1x 43 presents
20x 0 presents
I get presents from long present searches, but sod all from short searches...Why not included them in the quest?
Took me three attempts (short present search), sending out all my normal explorers,my lucky one and experienced explorer. Got some eventually
Yippee after switching my 6 explorers including 2 luckies to short hunts all day I finally completed the quest.
But as they often say in this type of game, the RNG is what dictates what happens - and although it may seem as though it is biased in favour or against certain players in reality it would probably take more programming than BB can afford to write the code!
Do not wake the wrath of the RNG god.. :(
I must be one of the lucky ones.....all 3 Lucky's came back from first short search with presents....since then been doing various length searches with tavern exp and faster ones and I'm getting presents almost every time, sometimes even double presents. It really is a lottery.
Which means it probably won't last, especially now I've brought it up, lol
I programmed an RNG many years ago, all I learnt is that the RNG is not as R as it should be....
I have 12 Savage Scouts and 1 Easter Eggsplorer which I sent out in 2 batches of short treasure search. Each batch of 13 searches had only one explorer returning with 5 presents. During the same period I had my 3 tavern Explorers doing one short search each and none of them brought any presents. My Lucky Explorers fared a little better, as I recall, but generally I'd say that the short search is, at best, a total crapshoot or, at worst, a complete waste of time and effort.
