Expedition success or failure rewards at random

I've failed to do an expedition. Every day I now get an email telling my I failed to do it and some rewards for failing - except some days I get an email saying I successfully conquered it and much more rewards for succeeding - not including actually having the colony of course!

I've now failed a second expedition - and now get 2 emails every day.

Whilst all the free stuff is nice, it does feel a bit like cheating

Only thing that failed in that story is BB`s attempt to make colonies work, still waiting on that to happen. After many colonies and 100`s thousands of iron and steel spent on weapons I`m taking a break from expeditions, until things get fixed, someday.
